Anonymous Coward User ID: 934071 United States 04/04/2010 07:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My dentist did a crown prep on my molar tooth on Thursday. It's been really sore since then. Last night I rinsed the area with mouthwash and after that I was in massive pain. My jaw was really sore. It felt like it was burning. And the tooth was throbbing. I took a strong painkiller and still it did not help. It's feels like there is pressure in the area. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 851838My dentist checked the area for decay prior to the prep. I asked him to make sure there was no decay or infection. He assured me there was none. What could be the problem? For some reason the mouthwash set the tooth off. If you had a root canal done, it is possible you are one of the few people who have extra nerves in many of their teeth....In fact, I learned this to be the case on 2 of my jaw teeth.... |

deadlyprawn User ID: 931479 United States 04/04/2010 08:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You probably have an abscessed tooth. Go into a DIFFERENT dentist, because yours is a fuck-wad and doesn't do his job right, and get yourself some anti-biotics. You will need a root canal. $900 bucks roughly. My wife has one right now, we simply can't afford the procedure, but at least she got anti-biotics to fight the infection. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 934071 United States 04/04/2010 08:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Omg your story sounds just like something that happened to me when the dentist fixed one of my teeth. He actually sealed in an infection, which in turn infected my jaw bone. Went back to the dentist on monday and explained what was going on, extreme pressure in the area, very hot tooth, throbbing/pulsing tooth. He had to remove it right then and put me on antibiotics. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 822427OP, better listen to this one.... This is a dangerous situation. |

It's the new quake activity in part. In the case of teeth feeling they are about to explode , it's often volcanic about to occur. Watch the reports here for that activity. You should feel almost complete relief when it does. Tonight or tomorrow. In the meantime, put ice on the outside of your cheek where the tooth problem is. It will draw infection to the surface, probably. If it does, sterilize a pin, and poke a pin hole in it. Apply ice, and when you see the spot at thae gum surface, pop it, and apply pressure with a q-tip. It will push the infection out. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 934447 United States 04/04/2010 08:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here are a few rememdies for toothache pain. If one doesn't work, try another! Got these off the web: Another weird thing Vicks can be used for is painful teeth or with abscesses adding a little baking soda into it and putting it on gauze. Slice a raw onion and put the slice on the affected area of gum or on affected tooth. I found this on another website and used it and it worked wonders! Thank God, it was the middle of the night on the weekend, I didn't know how I was going to make it until Monday. Who knew, what 8 Advil and a bottle of Orajel couldn't touch, 1 slice of onion fixed almost instantly! ASPIRIN (8-10) in a bowl and crush them with a wooden kitchen tool. add about 6 ounces of filtered water, and a little salt because it was kind of bitter. Heat it in the microwave until it is very warm. Soak a cotton ball in the solution and place the cotton ball in your mouth, in the dry socket. In about 5 minutes, you will be completely out of pain again!home remedies for tooth pain. Or....Dissolve an aspirin over the tooth. Lost cap filling: Melt parafin and fill in the tooth. VANILLA EXT. works fine for a toothe ache, but if you have almond extract this works even better, vanilla extract has 35% alcohol verses 37% for the almond extract believe me the add'l 2% does make a differenceIce placed directly on a throbbing tooth will also ease the pain to some extent. This is a better option than oil of cloves for younger children. A wad of cotton wool soaked in brandy or vodka can be squeezed against a cavity to numb the pain of toothache. You can reduce toothache pain by rubbing ice on the web between your thumb and index finger. . |

I had a tooth go Bonkers on me and it was one that never gave me a problem but it was next to two that always gave me a problem so I went to the Dentist and told her to take ALL 3 out, so none of them would fuck with me any more. :D However, the One that flaired up this time, wouldn't take the novacaine so that One hurt coming out but I wasn't leaving her Office with it still in me. ;) I'm still crossing my fingys that the pain never happens from the pulling, since the gal pretty much beat the shit out of me trying to get two of them out of me and she gave me some mighty strong pain killers to help but I haven't needed them yet. :D I'm worried the nerves will come back alive soon and I'll know why she gave me those pills but who knows? :D I can always HOPE! ;) Ribbit :) Ps: They were Upper Ones - #10, #11, & #12 - and #11 & #12 were impacted pretty bad and took her almost two hours to remove. :| Last Edited by Butt Ugly Toad on 04/04/2010 10:06 PM "To pee or not to pee, that is the question!" - Old Toad Proverb “Unbeknownst to most, Kindness is not a STD, so pass it on!” – Old Toad Proverb Old Toad Proverbs: Thread: Old Toad Proverbs |
