I've come to see life as a gift. A very tiny moment in the grand scheme of things. I've learned to look back and forgive those who may have hurt me, and ask forgiveness from those I may have hurt. And in doing so, I've realized that every moment, good and bad, that I have reflected on, has been worth it. Life is a blessing. |

Being chastized by my peers for being intelligent. Being chastized by adults for trumping the in logic, or pointing out the lack thereof in their assertations. Anonymous Coward User ID: 936584 China 04/07/2010 03:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I regret to inform you that you used the word "Regret" incorrectly. Regret (emotion) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search John Greenleaf Whittier's fictional heroine Maud Muller gazes into the distance, regretting her inaction and thinking about what might have been. Regret is a negative conscious and emotional reaction to personal past acts and behaviors. Regret is often felt when someone feels sadness, shame, embarrassment, depression, annoyance or guilt after committing an action or actions that the person later wishes that he or she had not done. Regret is distinct from guilt, which is a deeply emotional form of regret — one which may be difficult to comprehend in an objective or conceptual way. In this regard, the concept of regret is subordinate to guilt in terms of its emotional intensity. By comparison, shame typically refers to the social (rather than personal) aspect of guilt or (in minor context) regret as imposed by the society or culture (enforcement of ethics, morality), which has substantial bearing in matters of (personal and social) honor. Regret can describe not only the dislike for an action that has been committed, but also, importantly, regret of inaction. Many people find themselves wishing that they had done something in a past situation. All of the things mentioned in the post are nothing you did. They were not your acts. Therefore, you can not regret them. |

It does not state sorrow in regard to ones actions exclusively. Thanks for the definition you supplied - perhaps it is more correct? Take your dogma and shove it! Life is not about what happens to you, it's about how you deal with it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 846553 United States 04/07/2010 05:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I regret that my father took no joy in his fatherhood. I regret that he was an alcoholic. I regret that he beat my mother. I regret that my mother then beat her children. I regret that my mother "dropped her basket" when I was 5 and tried to kill me with a knife. I regret no one in the family removed her children from her care. I regret that I question even now if my parents ever loved me, and if I ever really loved them. |
