Have FSC cigarettes hit Australia?
This is a question ive been asking my self for a couple of weeks after ive noticed if i dont take a drag from my cigi for about 5-10 seconds they will put them self out. There is no indication on the packet of anything different or no mention of it in the media, but from what ive read about them from Americans it sounds like this is whats happen. I smoke peter stuyvesants, have any other smokers down under noticed this in the last few weeks?

Cant say im too happy about this if it is the case! At the very least they could have told us.

Re: Have FSC cigarettes hit Australia?
I have a big ass bag of quality pipe tobacco next to me and some papers. It was five bucks for the tobacco and a couple bucks for "clean burning Cigarette paper." I was going to use my pipe but the stem was broken and it needs to be fitted, so I tried rolling it up. It's great stuff, better than any brand cigarette, no fire retardant, and the tobacco is a custom blend hand prepared by a local store owner that I see when I go in.

Five Dollars. Seriously roll your own. When your done toss the remnant on the ground drag your foot across it and whalla, back to the earth, no waste. Everything but the tobacco and the paper is pure b.s. Filtered super extra light 120's? Give me a break.

I've noticed the same thing.

No mention anywhere.

I work at Phillip Morris from time to time, I'll ask next time I go there.

When I think of FSC I get this mental picture of cigarettes as used in movies for a explosives detonator. Anyone think that might have something to do with it?

Re: Have FSC cigarettes hit Australia?
Look at the back panel of your packet at the bottom. It says "AUSTRALIAN FIRE RISK STANDARD COMPLIANT - USE CARE IN DISPOSAL".

The old packs used to say "SALE TO UNDERAGED PERSONS PROHIBITED"

But I'm with you OP, I'm now sick of my ciggies going out like badly rolled joints.
Has anyone else noticed this elephant in the lounge room ?

Another block of writing from Elephant full of supposition and condescension whilst saying pretty much nothing. - EggNigma 2/2/2011
