Of course you believe scientist only get to the top of their field by being corrupt, while I believe they get their by being the smartest. I guess I am assuming but I cant think of any other reason that you wouldn't accept multiple epidemiological studies dating the HIV outbreak to somewhere between 1908 and 1941.

In the 1980s there was virtualy no AIDS in South Africa (perhaps partly because of the relative difficulty crossing the South African border during the apartheid era). The exception was a couple of dozen wealthy white gays who had gone to New York City and then brought back AIDS from there.

During the early to mid 1990s there was a mass inoculation of the Black population aginst polio following the election of Mandela and the resultant much vaunted supposed improvements to the national health system.

Suddenly within the space of ten years South Africa now has an AIDS infection rate verging on 50% amongst the Black community. Certainly there has also been an influx of tens of millions from the rest of Africa followig the collapse of border controls but even that cannot explain this extraordinary rise in the prevalence of AIDS.

Can someone please explain that article to me? I read it but I can't see the connection between HIV/ polio vaccine and rotavirus vaccine.

The rotavirus vaccine is still considered safe, the contamination doesn't present a significant risk and likely wont have any repercussion.
The virus PVC 1 has not been linked to any disease in humans or pigs and you can actualy be exposed to it by eating pork or pork products (ham, bacon etc.)

The OP is actualy hitting a salient point in that humans exposure to the AIDS virus was probably through local eating chimpanzees (called bush meat) before 1957 when the polio vaccine trials were run in africa and the first confirmed case of HIV occurred.
Someone probably cut themselves while hunting a chimp and their blood got contaminated, I mention this because if PVC 1 is going to become the next dangerous epidemic it is likely to occur through out consumption of pork since that is daily for some while vaccines occur maybe once a year over a lifetime.

Your doctor can tell you more than me about this of course, or anyone on these boards, I haven't met anyone qualified in any branch of medicine or science here yet.

Anyway one of the major factors in the spread was not using an incredibly important drug that others did use, AZT which stops mother-to-child transmission. For a long time it was rejected because of crazy people's anti-science conspiracy theories.

Why would the elites be scared of any number of compliant, easily distracted people that have only limited resources at their disposal?

On the economics of scale it would seem that the more people there are the more the difference in wealth between the elites and the rest of us so it would increse their power. However, the environmental damage sustained might be undesirable.

There are two types of HIV and a plethora of clades.

This means it had to have been on the different continents and mutating in humans far longer than your 1957.

Try late 1800's or early 1900's for the initial spread from Africa.
