How lame is cheating in a online game?

I play a game called Navy Field in the Euro server and there is a group called Band of Brothers in short (BoB),they call themselves honest players when a whole server does not see it that way

Proof they were caught cheating using exploits and hacks

Dear Fans of NavyField,

You all might have heard about the HA mentioned above. A bug has been
exploited by certain members of the defending fleet, causing much
inconvenience and anger amongst the community.

After checking the logs and the evidence you sent in, we decided the following:

Exploiting bugs is a violation of our rules (EULA). All
Members of the defending fleet who exploited any bugs during the HA will be
punished:

1. temporary ban from our Service (period will depend on their penal records)
2. the right to use CV6/BB6 will be revoked for at least 14 Days
3. the productivity and status of the harbour in question will be reduced
significantly (this point is still being under discussion).
4. From now on, any fleet that is found guilty using bugs in a HA defense
will face the above consequences and will also be restricted to 1 single
Harbour. This means , BoB will also have to give away tokio harbour.
Attackers using Bugs will also be penalized, of course.

We all hope that things like this will not happen again and we are pushing
the programmers to priorize bug-fixing and enhance Harbour Assault.

One last thing: Many players expressed their anger across the server chat
and forums - as well as teamspeak, using questionable phrases and sometimes
even a abusive and offensive manner. Please be advised that anyone who
violates rules or crosses certain boundaries may be penalized for that.

As a concerned gamer who plays the game for fun,not only BoB used exploits or hacks to play the game,there are rumors flying around that some of their members were people who were banned from Navy Field North America for hacking and cheating.Another lame thing,they bribe the Moderators in the server as well so they can't get banned,what they have done was that they got off lightly and have driven many players to play in other servers and they have even asked where a lot of players have gone
