Greeks use 8 billion euros of "bailout" money to buy weapons from Germany, reports Der Spiegel
According to „Der Spiegel“, the Greek government is spending as much as 8 billion euros of its „bailout“ money on buying weapons from Germany.

Bilderberg Greek Prime Minister Giorgos Papandreou has announced plans to buy two additional submaries 213 from Thyssen Krupp Marine Systems, eurofighters as well as Leopard tanks, allegedly as a condition of getting bailout money.

If it is true that the EU, IMF and the banks made purchasing weapons from Germany a condition for getting taxpayer's money, then this is a repeat of the 1930s when Germany’s banks directed capital flows to the Nazi military industrial complex, including the Thyssen Krupp empire, so preparing the country for world war two following a bank-engineered Great Depression.

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, 13 percent of all German arms exports to Greece, and 15 percent go to Greece’s traditional rival, Turkey.

Greece, with a population of 11 million is the world's fifth largest importer of conventional weapons.

The two submarines built ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems cost about 500 million euros each.

170 Leopard 2 A tanks built by Krauss Maffei Wegmann in Munich were ordered in 2002 and will cost Greece about 1.7 billion euros in total.

In 2001, the Greek government also ordered 5-billion euros worth of Eurofighters, but the deal was put on ice in spite of a sales pitch by Germany’s foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle (FDP) when he visited Athens this February.

So Greeks and Germans are having to fund with tax hikes and cuts in pensions and jobs not only the transfer of gigantic sums to the banks in the form of interest payments on
notional debts but also a military build up.

Now there's a smart use of your bailout money.

But what can we say, living here in the most heavily armed dead beat country on the planet.

At least they bought weapons made in Germany, not from UK or US or Russia or China.

At least 8 Billion of those money flows back to Germany.

Not bad.

Of course this was a condition for us in order to get the bailout money. Both from Germany and France. We know this. We still dont know what IMF asked from us. Maybe something to do with geopolitics and we will find out sooner or later.

There was a meeting in Athens with the Turkish Prime Minister a few days ago and there were talks on cutting military expences etc. but this doesnt seem to help much.

On the other hand today we have a very interesting result on the Siemens scandal. A former minister of transportation Tasos Mantelis (1996-2004) , admitted that he recieved 200.000 marks from Siemens for his electoral campaign. Another 250.000 marks which were found in the same swiss account of a relative of him, he says he doesnt know where they come from! lol
