Ok. I'VE BEEN GOOD "FALC" LONG ENOUGH!! FUCK OBAMA AND HIS UNDERLINGS!!!
I gave this fucker the benefit of the doubt. I watched him screw my children and their children by blowing a huge wad of cash based on our credit. I watched him sympathize with the Mexicans and refute the actions of a sensible state government (Arizona). Now he tells us that the Federal government wasn't prepared for an off-shore drilling disaster?? Are you fucking kidding me? I'm fucking livid. Fuck this asshole, I'm done. I'm with the rest of 99% of GLP'ers FUCK OBAMA!

Amid increasing criticism of the government's response to the Gulf oil spill, President Obama sought to push back against the perception that his administration has been asleep at the switch, insisting in an afternoon press conference that the spill has been his top priority "from the moment this disaster began."

"This notion somehow that the federal government is sitting on the sidelines and for the last three or four or five weeks we've just been letting BP make the decisions is not true," Obama said. "Those who think we are either slow on our response or lacked urgency don't know the facts."

Still, he acknowledged the government had been largely unprepared for the "worst-case scenario" in the situation. And more than a month after the April 20 blast, he admitted the administration remains heavily dependent on BP, not just for information but for the actual cleanup itself. "The federal government does not possess a superior technology to BP," Obama said.

Likely hoping to alleviate concerns that he hasn't been personally involved in the response, Obama offered long and detailed answers. He delivered an update on BP's "top kill" efforts to plug the leak and gave long descriptions of the internal back and forth between he and other administration officials about how best to move forward on the cleanup.

Yet Obama didn't help his case very much by seeming to be out of the loop when he was asked about the sudden departure this morning of Minerals Management Services chief Elizabeth Birnbaum, who has been under fire for her agency's lax handling of off-shore drilling properties. When asked if Birnbaum had resigned or was fired, Obama said he hadn't had a chance to talk to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar. Pressed again on the question, Obama seemed a bit flustered. "I don't know," he replied. "I found out about it this morning."

Asked about the increasing comparisons between his administration's handling of the spill and the Bush administration's response to Hurricane Katrina, Obama said he'd leave that judgment to others. "I'll leave it to you guys to make those comparisons. ... What I am spending my time on is thinking about how do we solve the problem?" Obama replied. Still, he added, "I'm confident people are going to look back and say this administration was on top of what was an unprecedented crisis."

Just three questions in the hour-long press conference were on issues other than the oil spill. Fox News' Major Garrett asked about Joe Sestak's claim that the White House offered him a job to drop his challenge against Sen. Arlen Specter in the Pennsylvania primary. Obama said the White House would issue a response "shortly." "I can assure the public that nothing improper took place," Obama said, declining to comment further.

At the top of the news conference, Obama, as he had previously, put the responsibility for the Gulf spill entirely on BP.

"BP is responsible for this horrific disaster," Obama declared. "We will demand they pay every dime they owe for the damage they've done." Yet this president, perhaps more than George W. Bush, has been sensitive to public reaction over what he has previously referred to as "blame-game politics."

Perhaps remembering this, Obama shared an anecdote, no doubt to demonstrate how the spill is not just another political dilemma but is personal to him. "When I woke up this morning and I'm shaving, and Malia knocks on my bathroom door and she says, Did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?" Obama said, adding that as someone who grew up in Hawaii he believes the "ocean is sacred."

And with that, Obama repeated a line that has served him well in tough spots. "In case anybody wonders, in any of your reporting, in case you are wondering who's responsible, I take responsibility," he said. It doesn't mean, he said, "this will be easy, or done right away, or done the way I would like it to happen ... but there shouldn't be any confusion, the federal government is fully engaged."

IT"S YOUR FAULT YOU OIL SUCKING INBRED COCK! You drive a car right? Or your mom drives you. Either way, you are responsible for this shit and the federal government, who we tax dollars pay, should have known by now that drilling a mile down into the oceans base, for oil, is fucking dangerous. How could they not have a plan for this, really?

I think you need to take a deep breath and calm down. I'm just as pissed as you are about the oil spill. In fact, I happen to live in one of the Gulf states and it just makes me sick to my stomach that this is happening. Admittedly, Obama isn't doing enough, but he did not cause the spill. BP's greed did.

Look, you can point the finger at BP. YOu can point your other finger at Exxon/Chevron.

All that finger pointing is worthless until you realize who demands this product, you and ME! I demand this product because the infrastructure demands that I travel long distances. I could quit my job, but then what help would I be to our economy? I pay good money, as do you, to be protected in case of such disasters.

If a Hurricane or Volcano had erupted, I wouldn't feel so strongly about Obama and his statements. This is not a natural disaster, and their should be protocols to fix the unlikely happenstance that it occurs. Apparently, it was overlooked. (probably by BO's predecesor so, maybe you're right) I'm still pissed at his underlings though!
