Sure, he might be rambling on about some other stuff that I don't put much stock into. However, to deny that mankind either due to ignorance or malice has been robbed of the name of the deity they choose to worship is just that, uninformed denial. Yes, the power of his words called forth the earth, the heavens, and mankind, too. So for him, talking animals, bushes, etc., seem to not be much of a challenge. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 642285Yes....but....bushes, donkeys, etc., don't talk to today. Why would God do miracles like this thousands of years ago and do nothing like that today? Where did God go? Wouldn't it make MUCH more sense to look at this realistically and understand that these are just myths and fairy tales written about in a book. It would be like someone reading a Harry Potter novel 2,000 years from now and arguing that all of it really happened. Or it would be like you actually believing in Jack and the Beanstalk and Santa Claus. You need to learn the difference between myth and legend and a true story. You need to understand the difference between fantasy and reality. Bushes don't talk and neither do donkeys or snakes. So because you, as I supposed adult, KNOW this, you should be able to use discretion and understand that this is NOT a true story. Why can't you do this? |

I seek to find what was actually written and seek to please my Elohim. I read the exact same bible you do and almost every other translation that exists. But it's obvious by your judgmental statements directed at me that you are 100% correct, we do not worship the same. Just a guess, but I suspect that you do not even honor your Elohim by obeying something as simple as the Shabbat. Sadly, you don't even seem to know the name of the deity you worship. By my calling Him by His name. Because I accepted Yahushua as my Messiyah and not the construct created by Hellenized Greece, Pharisitic decree and the Roman Catholic Church and refer to my creator and my savior by their proper names, you presume that you are more Holy than I. I make no such judgments about you. I take the words of my Elohim and my Messiyah over the words of any scribe or any man. You call my teachers and scholars misled gurus. Your belief sounds new age to me, totally foreign. I will remain faithful to the education I have received over the last few decades. They are innocent in their heart, and I hope that my Elohim will have mercy on them. In the end, many will come claiming they know the name of their Messiyah and claiming they did great works in his NAME. He will tell them, "I never knew you." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 970343 Yes, and that is transliterated to "Yahuwah". But yet you, knowing this, do not call Him by His name. You call Him by the names of a pagan god. In whose NAME were you baptized? Why do you take the word of man telling you that you need not follow the Laws of your deity over the very words of your Messiyah that tell you you do? When then end comes, whose NAME will be on your lips? Will is be the druid deity "Gesus"? Will it be the Greek goddess Leso, made masculine by adding "us", then changed to "Jesous" when the "J" was invented and finally translated to "Jesus" in English? Will it be "Christ" which is the name of every single Greek pagan deity? I'm not trying to change your beliefs. Your beliefs are personal. That is between you and your Elohim. However, I will not keep silent about this incredibly important information because it makes "Christians" uncomfortable. Lastly, I will not allow it to be implied I follow any other beliefs than I actually do, just because someone is too uneducated in the topic to understand what it is I'm saying. In closing, if you feel you are detecting a slight edge to my words, I apologize. However, I'm constantly being bombarded by "Christians" telling me I'm Muslim or a Satanist or that I'm not a follower of our Elohim because I don't behave and speak exactly like the indoctrinated masses. Shall I dictionary the word "assumption" for you, or do you think you're smart enough to do it on your own? CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS Trader of African Slaves, Sailor and Holy Crusader, 1492 Although best known today as "discoverer" of lands that had been discovered by Native Americans thousands of years before, it was already Columbus who introduced all those measures generally attributed to later conquistadors; including the enslavement of Indians and hunting them down with large packs of dogs. On his first voyage he described the natives as follows: "The people of this island and of all other islands which I have found and seen, ... all go naked, ... they ... are so artless and free with all they possess, that no one would believe it without having seen it. Of anything they have, if you ask them for it, they never say no; rather they invite the person to share it, and show as much love as if they were giving their hearts..." Because Columbus observed that the natives "ought to be good servants... and would easily be made Christians", and because his "execution of the affair of the Indies" was a "fulfillment of prophecies in Isaiah," he "took possession" of the islands, since the natives were intended by God "to be placed under the authority of civilized and virtuous princes or nations, so that they may learn ... to practice better morals, worthier customs and a more civilized way of life." Should the Indians object, the necessary declarations Columbus read (in spanish!) to the natives, continued: "I certify to you that, with the help of God, we shall powerfully enter your country and shall make war against you in all ways and manners that we can, and shall subject you to the yoke and obedience of the Church and of Their Highness. We shall take you and your wives and your children, and shall make slaves of them..." At virtually every landing on Columbus second voyage his troops went ashore and killed indiscriminately whatever animals and birds and natives they encountered, "looting and destroying all they found," as Columbus' son Fernando put it. As one eyewitness recalls: "Once the Indians were in the woods, the next step was to form squadrons and pursue them, and whenever the Spaniards found them, they pitilessly slaughtered everyone like sheep in the corral. ... So they would cut an Indian's hands and leave them dangling by a shred of skin and they would send him on saying 'Go now, spread the news to your chiefs.'... Some Christians encounter an Indian woman, who was carrying in her arms a child at suck; and since the dog they had with them was hungry, they tore the child from the mother's arms and flung it still living to the dog, who proceeded to devour it before the mother's eyes..." On one occasion in Cuba they "began to rip open their bellies, to cut and kill those lambs - men, women, children, and old folk, all of whom were seated, off guard, and frightened." After all, the Indians were only infidels, "naturally lazy and vicious, ... idolatrous, libidinous, and commit sodomy." In less than a decade after Columbus' first landing the native population of the island of Hispaniola - thousands and thousands of people - had dropped by a third to a half. Before the next century ended, the population of Cuba and many other Caribbean islands had been virtually exterminated. [S63-70] Wow, such nice Christians!! |

A nearly identical story is attributed by Greek and Byzantine folklore to Basil of Caesarea. Basil's feast day on January 1 is considered the time of exchanging gifts in Greece. While Saint Nicholas was originally portrayed wearing bishop's robes, today Santa Claus is generally depicted as a plump, jolly, white-bearded man wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers, and black leather belt and boots. This image became popular in the United States and Canada in the 19th century due to the significant influence of caricaturist and political cartoonist Thomas Nast.[4][5][6] This image has been maintained and reinforced through song, radio, television, and films. In the United Kingdom and Europe, he is often depicted in a manner identical to the American Santa Claus, but he is commonly called Father Christmas. A well-known folk legend associated with Santa Claus says that he lives in the far north, in a land of perpetual snow. The American version of Santa Claus says that he lives at his house on the North Pole, while Father Christmas is often said to reside in the mountains of Korvatunturi in Lapland Province, Finland. Santa Claus lives with his wife Mrs. Claus, a countless number of magical elves, and eight or nine flying reindeer. Another legend, popularized in the song Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, says that he makes a list of children throughout the world, categorizing them according to their behavior ("naughty" or "nice") and that he delivers presents, including toys, candy, and other gifts to all of the good boys and girls in the world, and sometimes coal to the naughty children, on the single night of Christmas Eve. He accomplishes this feat with the aid of the elves who make the toys in the workshop and the reindeer who pull his sleigh. |
