First, no mercury in vaccines for almost 5 years in the U.S. Despite this, the rate of autism has not decreased. Second, the symptoms of mercury poisoning are in no way similar to autism.

Mercury IS a neurotoxin, no question. Current levels are NOT high enuff to cause a problem unless you eat primarily fish from polluted waters. The future is a different issue--Bushco IS trying to modify reg to make it easier for industries to discharge mercury into the environment. We have to be on guard to stop that. But nutcase ideas will only discredit people who are fighting to protect the environment and public health.

Finally, stay away from quack ideas about "purification." The stuff proposed is ineffective and dangerous. See a competent doc who went to a real med school--not a mail order diploma mill.
