Re: Experienced meditators? I really need some help with a meditation problem.
Every time I get into the "zone" for more then one or two days I start experiencing this GAWD AWEFUL wrestles legs syndrome in my legs and arms. It feels like I am crawling out of my skin and is completely unbearable. It is worse then a muscle cramp.

I have experienced all sorts of unpleasant symptoms before, this is not what I am talking about. I can wade through pain and nightmares with out much trouble.. this is UNBEARABLE!

So I push past it and the further I go the worse it gets. It gets so bad that it starts up just thinking about it.

Does anyone know what it is? How to solve this?

I want to proceed, but after last night I did everything I could do today to numb out and fall back to "sleep," back into the false world. The despair over this dilemma is going to kill my soul.

I too had issues with this and a reki teacher (whom I still respect) was very surprised at my question and was stumped at my inability to get through it. I found later it was more due to dehydration and lack of an appropriate diet.

Try potasium for the restless legs. You are hitting an emotional blockage and don't want to look at it. Try focusing on your energy centers and see which one is being activated. Such as a pressure or uncomfortabel feeling in that area of your body. This will give you some indication what the issue is about. Trying and get in touch with the emotion connected to the the center. Make it your friend. Underlying the emotion will be memories and decisions or information recieved from others that is not true. Hence you resist looking at or becoming aware of the issues involved. peace

Looks like it has to do with your third chakra. IE power and control and creativity.

You say "every time you get into the zone for more than one or two days". This might be your problem. It is not good to "stay in a zone" for such a long time. When you meditate, you bring energy from spirit - through many layers - to the physical body. This type of energy has an effect on the nervous system. It is how you feel and sense it in the first place.....After meditation you should break the connection by taking quite a few deep breaths and blowing them out very hard. You have to have the intention of breaking the energy created during the meditation.

I'm no expert and can't say this is definitely your problem, but I channeled energy intentionally for many years and would stay connected for days at a time. I have MS now. I would swear it was due to my constant state of staying in the zone....I still meditate and channel, I just make sure I am wise and shut it down as soon as I am finished. Too much of a good thing is not always the best idea. I hope that helps.

P.S. I had and still have the leg sensations you are talking about. There is a natural remedy called Calms by Hylands...it helps to calm the nervous system. If you don't find it locally you can find it on vitacost.com.

this may sound odd...

but...everyone is afflicted with foriegn entities to some extent ....

when a person is actually 'walking the path' that very few do..then..at that time, the other entities that are hitchin a ride INSIDE you...which are parasitic...well..these 'things' know that their days are numbered and they can't stand the level you are going to...and they start freaking out...

you will only be free of this when you can remain in your meditation...AND LET IT PASS FROM YOU.

any mental reaction on your part to the disturbance allows the 'things' to stay within you.

you must learn more mental discipline when 'it' occurs and be still and continue in your mediations and LET IT PASS out of you.

the foregoing is the absolute truth...there is no need to fear in the least...and ..after you let it pass...there will be many many more tests within you in the future...this is milestone for you to get through...

good luck , you are on the true path.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 618285

and NO, it is NOT the kundalini awakening...

learning to breathe 'it' out...is the most effective way to deal with 'it'...

it will pass out of you...and you will KNOW IT without any doubt...

again. Good luck and don't stop meditating.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 618285

No it doesn't sound odd at all. I don't plan to stop meditating. It is a powerful run away that I later regret.

I have no teacher to visit in person for help, but I am watching some yoga videos this evening to get some good stretching ideas. I know good nutrition matters, and good hydration. After that.. it will be breathing through it and letting it pass.

I won't stop. Thank you for your encouragement. Sunny

I am so sorry to hear you are struggling with MS. :Group-Hug:

Something about the suggestion of shutting down the energy when I am doe does not quite resonate as right for me. I have a strong sense that the time is now to do this work.

I will be sure to look into the herbal remedy you suggest! Thank you!

Interesting you should ask:)

I'm actually doing a meditation program right now. They explain what you are going through as your body trying to bring up it's wounds and get you to pay attention. Because you are meditating, you are in a state of present time awareness - so this is why this surfaces. When you are not meditating, you are distracted with thoughts of the past or the future, so the present doesn't surface.

To get through this you need to give whatever is hurting or bothering you your full attention while you breath at a steady pace. Tell whatever part of you that is trying to get your attention that you are watching, that you are paying attention and will not ignore it. Then focus on the center of that pain, not with annoyance, but with compassion, like you were soothing a hurt child. Keep breathing and focusing. At first it may seem to get worse, just like a child might cry harder when it knows you are paying attention finally, but keep breathing your compassion into the pain and it will fade.

I've been doing this for weeks and it really seems to help.

humm, vibration.
Is a most excellent sign for those who hear the high pitch continious sound.
This sound has interesting features.
1. it gets louder when you pay attention to it.
2. impossible to tell which ear or where its coming from
3. if you listen with love and no thoughts it gets louder, then you know its not tinnitis.
4. it has many names, Bani, logos, staff of life , bread of life, audible sound current, shabda and 'the WORD" The Force
5 like the tv without a station has a static backdrop, and a static sound, so does life itself and it can be seen and heard by few.
6. Its saved my Butt totally in the mountains when i grew pot.It warned me of the helicopters. It woke up my girlfriend when she was driving and fell asleep.
7. Been hearing it since a guru friend asked me to just listen, truly listen. I did and it changed religion for me as it all came to life for me.Sometimes its so loud i can hear it when i drive my truck (diesel). It is the creative force that makes the very moment we are in .And us of course altering with our vibratory rate .
There is much more to this and i could go on and on.It is my life ha ha lol. It has disadvantages. i can list them too
ok its not all good.
Yea you get connected to the prime force, but you pay dues.
1 most run from real truth when they have to apply it.
2 no more "falling in love". NOW YOU BRING IT. Love just became something you do, not look for.
3 We think our thoughts are private. Not! So we learn to guide our thought stream. On the other end is the one who hears the same song all day. he failed to take charge of his mind eh? I am whole healthy strong and powerful, loving harmonious and happy. My personal life turned out that way after repeating that thought many times
4 how can you be dishonest when you realize you are stealing from yourself? And can create what you need.
5 you cannot help but realize the universe is perfect at all times. From our personal view we rarely think so.
6 you see clearly the why of things, makes it really difficult to complain
7 worst of all you see that suffering is the best teacher and catch yourself being thankful for a crappy day.
8 or like me seeing my 89 year old girlfriend as beautiful because i see the love in her.

dont be in no hurry. Everything i ever hurried at didnt work out so well and i ended up making many reruns on various human foibles.
To really set you at ease there are utube videos on quantum phisics, vibrations and matter. Once you peruse this you will come to the obvious conclusion that you are, but cannot define where! Therefore the "I AM" in many religions is voiced and some gurus will say to "just BE"
For me , being german and very stubborn i had to experiment and verify as best i could.
Point to all this is that you ARE whether you have a body or not and yes i have proved that to my satisfaction.
Therefore you cannot die. Now the question becomes, how well can you live since so many are asleep (Caught in the illusion). I am 1mealperday on utube and nowhere near perfect yet. Good nite

man... i want so much to get an insight for you on this

mine was chest pain and had to do with working out yet more and ancient issues...

but legs? and arms? hmmmm...

is there a reason you might have for not wanting the new energies in your TORSO and it might be staying out in the limbs?

have you tried light stretches and physical movements to help the energies to spread evenly in your body?

The Holy Spirit can tell you what to do, please ask.

I hope this is resolved for you immediately, and you can ask for a quick fix and get your confirmations and understandings later... you certainly will want to advance to the next level in your transformation.. so I hope you will not have to cease...

perhaps just a simple letting go of the whole process? have you been going too fast lately?

some forms of meditation involve body movement. Perhaps this is part of something you have yet to learn about.
 Quoting: popcorn

YES.

for me, the movements of the body came naturally as though I had learned them in some ancient lifetime.

and it does work for moving and distributing the new energies and using them on your body for healing, through the movements and stretches.

think of Bruce Lee just stretching and limbering up... light moves like that

Re: Experienced meditators? I really need some help with a meditation problem.
It might be that the feeling of restlessness, that twitchy feeling is there a lot of the time and when you meditate you become quiet enough to notice, but that would depend on your normal level of awareness. It might also be that you are not used to sitting in that position and it's causing slight strain, are you flexible, are you using enough cushions so that you knees touch the floor? Posture is important, and comfort too, although being too comfortable will ultimately result in sleep. In any case unless you are in a very awkward meditation pose if you persist you will get past any twitchy, itchy, jumpy stages. One method some meditators use is to actually concentrate on the itch or whatevr body sensation, then after a bit, your consciousness kind of merges with the sensation and dissolves it (thats the best description I can give it). Good luck OP and keep up the effort.

in some cases its not a foreign entity but still a cohesive bundle of seeming intelligent energy that needs to go, some of it is OUR OWN JUMBLED UP AND CONFUSED STUFF.

Re: Experienced meditators? I really need some help with a meditation problem.
Focusing to try and "see something" is reverse current. Something will come in that is undesireable.

Instead, as you notice the "grey" silent void, "push" against it by mental energy as if you were trying to solve a tough math problem, but do not envision any particular 3D thing or thought pattern.

Just "push" the grey out in all directions. Apply the pressure as hard as you can for as long as you can. It may only work for seconds, maybe a minute.

You will notice a day or more later your mental capablities are deeper, wider, faster, and with newness you never had before. Like your mind-space is larger.

The spherical direction for the current of the mind processes is from the inside (a folded in on itself dimension where the spirit resides) outward (into the 3D spatial dimensions and the time current itself, which is it's own 4th dimension)

You need to purify your nadis in your body using diet (no milk, fish, meat or egg products or anything grown in the ground) and pranayama. Go get some instruction in doing yoga purification practices combined with breath retention (1:4:2 ratio). After you have practised these consistently and with application for a few months, you will develop lightness of being and your practise with move forward with ease..

WTF is LEFT??? No, seriously... Cardboard, maybe?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 718510

Cardboard is made from wood pulp, trees grown in the ground. You should know better!

Seriously, balance with the needs. The sodium-potassium-water 3-legged stool must be adhered to (search engine sodium potassium pump) so every cell is functioning correctly. 1:3 on the sodium to potassium ratio with at least 6 glasses of good water, all 3 spread out over the entire day. Too much or too little of any of the 3 and an imbalance is dangerous and invites diseases and conditions.

1.5 gms of protein for every kilo of LEAN body weight per day, no processed grains or sugars/starches and you'll be adequately, not perfectly, arranged.

I dont think RLS has anything to do with the spiritual part of our body, or has anything to do with meditating, my Mom had it all her life, and she didnt even know what enlightenment ment, or even yoga,, it was just a physical thing

Right, but this happens in relation to meditation. It goes away if I stop, comes back when I start.

maybe when you sit in Lotus position it cuts the blood off alittle, or the nerves, I am certified yoga meditation from the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, the same place Sting went to learn yoga, years later.

:Group-Hug:

I am laying down when I meditate, or sitting on a bench.

It's coming clear to me now. As a child I was badly abused. I over came the abuser by force of will.. by being infinitely more powerful then they were, by not reacting to torture, by having more self control. I was smothered, broken bones, cuts, burns.. etc... I learned to withhold any reaction so he was denied any impact.

It is how I coped all my life to stress.

At age 54 my body has paid the price for not allowing that energy to move out. I am pretty "locked up" by health issues right now. As I began to meditate I have moved through the energy centers from the bottom up, and from the top down, but that darn will center is locked up.

What is happening is NOT minor twitching. If I can handle all that abuse, trust me this is unbearable.

Earth Daughter has deeply touched my heart on the issue.. learning to love yourself when such things have happened is not an easy task. Maybe it's better said as learning to love the vulnerable reactive self is not easy.
