Why don't they at least drop a bigger pipe over the oil gusher and contain it to one spot on the surface?

They're letting it spread freely everywhere then chasing it all over the place.

What's going to hold the pipe in place?

A barge like held it there before? That's gotta be easier then chasing it all over.

I think they are going to do this. Look at the pictures here:
[link to www.bp.com]

They say it must calm down sea to put this huge thing on.

Re: Why don't they at least drop a bigger pipe over the oil gusher and contain it to one spot on the surface?
I have thought this, and I think if it was open at the bottom sucking up lots of sea water with the oil then there is no pressure problem down the oil shaft as it is simply sucking up the sea water at 5000ft.

The only problem I think but cant understand, it the water is much heavier at the bottom of the pipe from the top so maybe this creates great pressure in itself on any water trying to rise vertical through the pipe

You will end up with the methane hydrate problems.

Sadly, I think the fact that they have not done stuff like this as well as turning all international help away is the big clue that they want it to happen to serve their wicked agenda.

A lot of the spilled oil could have been contained, even if skimmed from the surface by the many international barges which have offered assistance. They also use the dispersant to keep the plumes underwater for this reason too.

Makes me very angry and sad!

Numerous breaches in the pipe has and continues to make it next to impossible to contain all the chemicals that are leaking out of the sea floor. Just because they show one gusher on the cam does not mean it is the big one only the one they want the people to pay attention to. Nothing is as it seems anymore. Nuking option will float around the news for weeks while the chemicals will surround Florida and start going north.

i thought of that twoo. today... =)
i would suggest a very big tube, like 500meters (/) (diameter)
no sucking at all, just put that in the water, on a floating plattform, nearly to the bottom of the seafloor. you even do not have to fix it on the floor, because, as we all can see in the feeds, the plume flows straight up. a 500 diameter tube wich is hovering the last 50 meter over the water, like a big silo or tank, where the oil is collected and shsips can suck it off and bring it away.

you could build the tube from segments with big cranes or robot-arms, wich are on the floating plattform. the segments come with ships. you put one segment on tob of the other, so that the tube would "grow" in the deepth.

with such a diameter there would be no need to suck, and no risk of methane hydrate. the oil simply floats to the top and finally swimms in a 500diameter tank on the water.

Because they don't want to stop it. They want to use the disaster as an excuse to gain more power.

*and because the tube would be fixed on the floating plattform on top, it would stabilize through its own weight, so no need to stabilze or worry about currents?

but in the end, i had so much ideas, and saw so much ideas, and nothing was done. so i cme to the conclusion that "they" (whoever it is) really dont want to stop this. crazy idea, but....i cant help, that seems obvious now.

they need a demolitions expert, and a shit load of mud and concrete ready to pour after the oil stops

I totally agree. The only reason they don't do this is they don't WANT it fixed. They want the biggest disaster they can create on purpose.
