BP and Military on Panama City Beach July 4 2010! + DAILY REPORT 7-5-10

hhmm..I do know military have been moving their families out in large numbers.

From Panama City, just 40-/+ minutes away.

Except the normal amounts of military movement (next to none) or reserves movement (also, next to none) there is nothing going on at the beach here.

Except for the millions of dollars put into a dam, the tons of ex-fishermen trying to make a new life for themselves and the hundreds of people in denial at the beach (HA Idiots!) there is nothing odd going on.

Oh, and BP is really doing the whole 'How would the federal Government do this job?' act doing. (Next to nothing).

I have tried to find the patch that was on the one soldiers left arm. As far as I know, that is NOT a guard patch. Anybody, able to help with this?

I have lived in Pensacola all of my life and the ONLY time I have ever seen military on the beach is after Ivan, this is not normal. We have noticed here also thatsome of the workers they are busing in do not speak english, they are all staying in hotels in Gulf Breeze,if they were local why would they need a hotel? I expect a large percentage are inmate workers, work release and day labor hires. I guess if they can hire cheap that is how they are going to do it. I am really concerned about the military being on the beach, we have not seen that here yet.

I am wondering if they may just be a private security compnay, there are no laws saying they can't wear fatigue like uniforms. I can't read the writing on the vehicle if is gov issued? I still see no reason for them to be on the beach.

Aren't there reports of Russian subs off the gulf? I'm really not surprised there's a military presence, we'll see a lot more of that.

I was going to take my 4 yr. old to the beach in Clearwater later this week, not going to do that. Saddens me she'll never enjoy those beaches.

is there any real proof of that ? i'm not saying I don't belive it, i'm just saying it would be really nice if you guys got your hands on some real evidence.

Perhaps if some real proof is found then more people will take this seriously and get the hell out of the Gulf coast region.

1. Are you sure the guys who "appeared" to work for BP actually do? 2. From a legal stand point if "said" BP employees talked about spill and said something that was incorrect or misconstrued then there would be a problem for BP. Good, bad, or ugly that is how corporations work; they have public affairs people talk to the media and lawyers who scrub the message before it goes out. 3. Military on the beaches: about 10 days ago, on another thread, I posted that the DOD is mobilizing bodies and equipment to assist in the coastal clean up. Most people did not believe me so I told them to wait and see. Well they are starting to show up now and surprisingly people are seeing them.

Are they National Guard. I thought they where supposed to send units down there to help.

I doubt a private security company, though they have hired them. It's definately military. Maybe Active or Reserves, the vehicle is military looking. But, why remove or mask the ID of the unit?

NO, I don't know any Guard unit that has a unit patch like that. Especiall, from Louisana or the Gulf States.

I was told a few weeks ago to NOT vacation this summer. We often go to a beach somewhere new. But someone close to me who is serving in the Gulf insisted I stay at home this summer.

I grew up in a military family. And one thing I know very well is the military would evacuate the families of service men/women before the general public. I have experienced that first hand dealing with hurricanes while living in military housing off-base.

This crisis just get worse and worse and worse. I wonder, where is the ceiling of this catastrophy?

the water looks good at panama in that first video, thought its hard to tell exactly. It seems to get worse in other areas, then switch back and forth with tidal currents

From Jackson Co. Fl...all the local blacks are getting jobs for BP on the beach for $18 plus, they take a 4 day training course and told about ? am gathering info now...

Hey CRAP, if you're going to open your mouth about staying home this summer then go all the way. You've told one side of the story. Are you intimating that you were told to "stay home" but not told why? That's kind of ridiculous, no?
I'd like to believe that military and police are on the side of the people at the end of the day, but I'm a dinosaur. The more I see and hear, the more it occurs to me that these folks have been brainwashed into being "true believers", as well. Fuck that.

I don't think the 7th and the 17th are good days concerning this.

We have over 200 national guard camped out at ST Andrew State park whihc is right on the beach, guess they where helping BP keep any oil at all off the water line for the 4th. We also have the 576th Transportation detachment for the Army Reserve here and they have done tours in the middle east as the 509th before they where restructured into the 576th, the jeeps look like the ones parked at the Army Reserve Center down on 15th street across from Gulf Power, and used to be each year the reserve center held its 4th of July Bash on the Beach at ST. Andrews State Park.....


What I didn't see this year was that bash...

So they are either keeping their family's away from the beach or they didn't hold it there because their National guard buddy's are currently camping there or they didn't get any news coverage I have seen this year...

You forgot the part where Lazna from the Esc Co Health dept says " I would get in the water". I have yet to see any of these people claiming that our beaches are safe get in the water. I think we all know why.

BP has stated that ALL employees are allowed to speak to media if they choose to.

Keep in mind the 144th National Guard just returned this week from the deserts of the middle east, could just be them having fun..

Same in oba and gs al. never seen them down on the beach.. only after Ivan and that was weeks into it. Most of them were for policing homes and condos making sure no one started going into them. Freaky stuff. Seen some down at the bp claims office standing around. I have not seen any of them on the beaches.. only prisoners and boss. One big set up LIE~ money washing scam, murdering of the gulf, ALL this was a well thought up attack, for the love of money, power, and hate of this country. He stealing all that hope and change: really meant he will effect your life to something like his 1/2 brother living in that hut in Kenya. no worry's rev right going to be passing out the chickens soon..

My brother works for an operation (can't divulge who it is as he has access to classified military daily briefings) and he told me on 7/5 that if the leak is not sealed by late August, we can expect the SHTF scenario we all fear. While he could not go into detail, his roundabout way of talking meant we could see the govt collapse over this as millions of peoples lives are ruined by the lies and destruction. That's all I could ascertain from our roundabout conversation.

I truly believe this. If they cannot seal the well, then it will be the end of the Gulf. This will in turn effect the overall economy. All I can say, is that we have to pray that this works. If not, I would SERIOUSLY considering stocking up now.
