A friend of mine had his lifelong chow mix boy mauled to death on his property by two pits that got loose from their backyard. Devastating watching a dog you loved for 12 years torn apart. Pit bull owners whose dogs hurt people and dogs should get mandatory sentences. If you want to own them you need to be held accountable. That would change things...

I was attacked by a "friendly" neighborhood pitbull about 10 yrs ago.....it clamped down on my forearm and wouldn't let go....I ended up having to lift my arm and plunged a razor sharp knife into its belly....the blade was cutting edge up and I lifted the dog with the blade....his jerking helped the blade cutting thru the ribs....about half way thru the ribs, it must have hit the heart cuz he went limp....his teeth was still clamped on my arm....
