Just pointing out something that appears obvious to me, but probably escaped the attention of the OP.

The word "quarter" refers to 1/4 or 25% of something.

So, does the NJ society quarter refer to 25% of something such as silver - i.e. one quarter ounce of silver?

Or is it simply another token cast of low cost alloys that are sufficiently hard and shiny to attract the attention of children who do notice that somehow hard and shiny is of greater interest than soft and dull?
