Weather Patterns could be chaotic and out of the norm this coming two months. | |

Quoting: ~Amber~I was stunned when I read that the north and south pole are not just one pole, but several that are aligned, and that when the poles do start their shifting, that they become misaligned, and then we have several north and south poles all over the globe. I never thought that the south pole could actually bend and not be in line with the north pole. I hope that is not what is happening. I don't think it is, but I am waiting for evidence to show either way. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1042949 United States 07/28/2010 01:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think the weather is weird too. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1050786CorExit? Methane? Both? Just as oil's viscosity can thicken the fluid of the gulf waters and change the flow of the gulf stream, the collection of certain gasses in the air can also effect the viscosity of air flows. I have read that methane is around 30-40 percent lighter than normal air. So the methane rises quickly out of the water, unless, and I repeat, unless the corexit traps it under the water with the oil. If that is the case, then the gulf of Mexico is a giant pot of flammable liquid, waiting for the right circumstances to blow us all to kingdom come. I suspect the corexit is trapping methane. For we should have had severe methane blow outs in the gulf by now. The boats and clean up crews didn't seem to worry about burning fires on the surface. If methane was bubbling out, then it would have caused surface explosions at least once. It never has. There is also the case of gasses trapped below great ocean depths, such as carbon, that can form a nearly liquefied gas under the ocean. Some companies were thinking of pumping their excess carbon in ocean trenches. The problem with that would be if earthquakes unsettled the pockets of gasses. For then the gas would rise and spread out along the shores, smothering hundreds of millions of people. |

SolarIMG User ID: 1049779 Canada 07/28/2010 06:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Very interesting observations and I like your hypothesis, I'm gonna dig into this a bit more! Please excuse any bugs on SolarIMG/ARTIS as I decided to remove that fundraiser/paypal thing, as I got a couple donations toward hosting but that was a while ago so I figured that's all people would contribute and I wanted to add SDO also. I had a feeling something happened recently - I got the sudden urge to clean/organize/etc and that typically happens to me around the time of solar events (weird, eh?) Thanks Nyhee for this, very cool! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1050865 United States 07/29/2010 03:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Weather patterns have already been "chaotic and out of the norm" for the past year already at least. Remember the record cold long winter we had in the northern hemisphere? And summer has brought excessive, long lasting heat waves that have extended much farther north than usual. I'm not trying to discount what you are saying, OP. I'm just noting that an added dose of chaos has been at play for at least the past 7 months. Something is definitely shifting in the weather patterns, no doubt about it. |

Here is an image of what Hurricane Alex looked like at one point.. [link to yfrog.com] Bonnie also sort of looked like that at one point which I don't have an image for... Since early June at least there have been reports of odd cloud formations.. here is an image supposedly taken June 23 in Minneapolis.. [link to seps1816.files.wordpress.com] here is a gallery of a new type(s) of cloud formations taken June 7.. [link to www.ky3.com] Recent GLP Cloud threads.. Nyhee / Fry User ID: 1061273 United States 08/09/2010 09:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So you guys think that this floods, heat and cold waves resulte from solar winds etc than global warming? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1051993Wow, I didn't know people were commenting on this thread. Sorry for the long delay in my responses. Today the spirals are trying to come back to normal on the south pole, but the aurora is not normal, even though the Earth has been tilting to a fall position since June, the south pole has been off kilter in shape. It is still pushing against the normal wind currents in the south, and when cme's and coronal winds come our way, it heats the south up pretty good. I'm still holding to my original idea that we should be getting some crazy weather soon, this fall is going to be scary for the USA. |

Here in Portugal it's too dry and heat... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1062657I heard from another poster here on GLP that if the gulf stream has really been reduced, then the currents from Africa will begin coming up your way, which would warm Spain and Portugal, while England sits under an ice sheet. |
