OP,
What is your background with education? I am by no means trying to be negative but really the opposite. Either you have studies a hell of a lot on the subject of weather or you have gone to school for it. One way or another does not discredit what you’re saying in my eyes.
(P.S.) If it can I think this should be pinned for a little while so it can be talked about more.)

I studied them to learn what the symbols meant, and what fronts and pressure boundaries were. The normal wind currents or circuits that our planet has were also cool to study, I found those in a science book my grandfather gave to me when I was 12. When I pick up a book to read at the store, while waiting on my wife, or magazine, it is usually a science or astronomy book. The current condition in the south pole has changed some, but the damage is still going on. The normal pattern has not returned yet. I'm frankly amazed that high school science neglects teaching about the weather in more detail, for it is truly fascinating.
