No it's not, and that's more of a problem with this country than the illegals sucking the welfare state dry.

There is nothing fulfilling about a minimum wage job that works you 8+ hours a day, just so you can have the basic necessities of life. Why are people still trying to justify what basically amounts to slave labor?

Unless you are running your own business, and barely scraping by, you get absolutely dick out of busting your ass for a shit paycheck, that is taxed to hell and back.

The only way I would ever settle for flipping burgers or whatever other menial jobs you can think of, is if someone else's life depended on me. If I made the choice of bringing a kid in to this world, I would do whatever I had to, to provide for them. Other than that, I see ZERO justification for taking any job that breaks you mentally, and spiritually, just so you can eat, and have a place to sleep.

Tell this to the 5 million welfare reciepients. Let me know if they are as " gung ho" about working a 40 hour a week job invloving physical labor, for $7.50/hr, as you are. LOL.

But here's the thing. If there were no illegals doing it for $7.75 an hour, then the wages would be forced to rise to the point that workers would do the job. See, if it's a hard job and takes a lot to do, people will do it, but you have to pay them right.

There is no excuse for paying someone that little to pick veggies. The farmers can afford more and they know it. They will pay more when they have no choice and not a minute before.

Take away their cheap labor force and then make them hire Americans at a decent wage.

I have been trying to get a job for a few years now; most places that hire, use Unicru, which includes a massive personality test -- I don't get the job, because I'm an INTJ, and I get redflagged...

I would love to do actual, physical labor (lifting, inventory, stock, etc), but can you guess who has all of those jobs around here?

Is this supposed to be sarcastic? I don't understand why anyone without a job would not take a job for $7.75 an hour requiring a person to do physical labor for 8 hours a day. When did everyone decide that they were entitled to a $100,000 a year job?

Since we are against universal health care, this "job" needs to have medical insurance too.

Because this type of work makes the owners and top management wealthy at the expense of the peons doing all the sweat work.

Yes there is===there's a need for such jobs for students, young people who still live with their parents or share a place with several roommates. Not everyone looking for a job is a head of household who needs to support a family.
There is a need for part time jobs too, for mothers of school age children, retired people, etc. All jobs don't have to include benefits to attract applicants.
