Anyone in the inland US smelling oil/chem smells? Spotting oily rain, unusual plant death? List it here.

I'm in SW Virginia, a good 1000 miles from the GoM, anyway.

On July 26th, while sitting outside, a strong wind gust came through from the SW - I'm assuming it was the leading edge of air movement from TS Bonnie, as the track was in line with the projected track & general timing. I immediately smelled a distinct diesel/kerosene-like, solvent-y smell for several minutes.

I'm WAY out in BFE, with no neighbors or anything industrial nearby that would account for this odor.

Just sayin'.

Anyone else? Anything similar? Where?
