Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1053526There, fixed it for you. Magnesium is way overlooked in bone health. The other HUGE issue is most people have a very acidic PH level. It's directly related to diet. The body has a neat trick to bring it back into balance. It leeches Calcium from the bones. Dairy ironically is very acidifying and is a huge culprit in osteoporosis. Denmark Norway and Sweden consume the most diary and have the highest rates of osteoporosis, followed by the USA. So enjoy the hilarity, during your doctors visit when he parrots bullshit straight out of fiction and promoted by the Diary Industry, leading you straight into further sickness and disease. Milk it does a body harm. |

That is, people who drink water that is deficient in magnesium and calcium generally appear more susceptible to this disease. The U.S. National Academy of Sciences has estimated that a nation-wide initiative to add calcium and magnesium to soft water might reduce the annual cardiovascular death rate by 150,000 in the United States." User ID: 1053821 United States 07/31/2010 12:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Magnesium is huge for heart health.....also it was recommended by a homeopathic dr for me when I was having a nervous breakdown...it helped calm me down quite a bit... Also I have read for alcoholics who are quitting and dealing with a pounding heart...helps regulate the heart. Our perfect companions never have fewer than four feet. ~Colette |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1053526 United States 07/31/2010 01:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Agree magnesium is huge and most cal/mag supplements don't have enough as it should be 1:1. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1036778Anyway I'm starting to think many vitamins are over rated. A meal with broccoli and say some canned salmon with bones is a way healthier and better calcium supplement than some pills. Yes eating it from the source is better than supplementation if you can eat enough of it, every day! Most people cannot, and since our mineral content of the soil in the US has degraded almost 80% from what it was back in the early 1900's when the levels for mineral needs were determined, most people are not going to get enough vitamins and minerals from their food, even if they grow their own unless they've amended their soils and have yearly soils testing done. Also, there are folks like me who are allergic to some foods, Broccoli being one for me, so I don't eat it. Supplements are helpful and necessary in the world we live in and Big Pharma KNOWS this.. so do those who encourage and promote Eugenics. And yes, Magnesium is also very important... Actually having a good mineral balance is very important for everyone because it is the minerals in your body that promotes the detox effect which happens every night (research the Krebs Cycle). IF you can afford it, take minerals that are Chelated; meaning they are bound to a protein which will get them into your bloodstream and guarantee that they will not bind to a plant fiber and be washed away down the elimination tract... |
