He is the mayan version of Nimrod, the babylonian sun god. Nimrod, son of Cush, son of Ham, son of Noah (flood) founded the city of Babel shortly after the flood. He established a religious system where he and his wife were deified as gods, hence the name the babylon mystery religion. Essentially the One True God YHVH confounded the languages (Genesis 11) and scattered the people all over the earth. The people walked away with many different names for their pagan false man gods Nimrod and Semiramis.

Nimrod is sun god, Semiramis is moon goddess, in the Mayan version of the babylon mystery religion, Quetzalcoatl is the sun god Nimrod (notice Quetzalcoatl is god of the sun).

Essentially Nimrod/Quetzalcoatl/Apollo/Sol/Shiva/
