I'm not going to read all 85 pages so I'll probably say some things that have already been posted.

OP is 100% correct. I think it was Sweden that recently changed it's national dietary guidelines to 70% fat 20%-25% protein 5%-10% carbs.

I've eaten a pound of bacon every single day this year. I've lost weight (30 pounds), my cholesterol is now perfect, my blood pressure is now perfect, my risk of diabetes is now ZERO. My risks for heart disease, stroke, blood clot, alzheimer's, dementia, fibromyalgia, inflammation diseases, mental degradation disorders, all massively reduced from not eating calorie dense carbohydrates.

This is known as a ketogenic diet. It's NOT Adkins. Adkins is much higher in protein. You only should eat enough protein for maintenance of muscles and no more as your body converts unused protein into glucose. The only carbohydrates we should be eating come from fruits and vegetables, and go LIGHTLY on the fruits, so much sugar in them. You want vegetables like Avocados, high in good fats, low carbs and WAY more potassium than a sugar laden, terrible for your health, banana.

You can eat all the fiber carbs you want, your body cannot process them, at all.

When I began this journey of very low carbs as a lifestyle the carb cravings were intense. We are literally addicted to them. I'm not going to look it up but there was an article in something like the Lancet showing how carbohydrates have the same effect on the brain as heroin and other opiates. Breaking the carb habit can be very difficult. But over time I've gotten over the "Sugar Hill". I still do a carb free day about every two months and each time I do it those carbs are less and less enjoyable.

Being in Ketosis means you will not get shaky when you're hungry. If you get shaky or light headed from hunger you are eating incorrectly, this never happens to me anymore. I simply get the feeling, I need to need something, that's it. But if needed I could go hours longer with no energy loss. Those afternoon lulls where you need a 5 hour energy, a coffee, or a red bull, GONE. I never need a nap anymore. I also only need 6 hours of sleep to wake up and feel amazing with zero need for caffeine. 8oz of water gives me as much boost as coffee ever did.

The key to Ketosis is to eat enough. Your appetite gets DESTROYED when you eat high fat and it's very easy to slip into starvation mode. I went weeks only consuming 600-800 calories a day. Sure I lost some weight but not nearly as much weight as I lost eating 2500-3000 calories... oh, and I sit behind a computer and do zero exercise, EVER and I lost weight.

What you're doing by eating fat and cutting carbs is you're forcing your body to use another source for fuel. The only other source of energy that can cross the blood / brain barrier are ketones. Ketones are produced from fat. So by eliminating carbohydrates you are forcing your body to become a fat burning machine, because it has no other choice. Do this, you'll lose fat. Yes, just like the OP says, you eat only fat you will be less hungry and you will LOSE FAT. Eat just enough protein for muscle maintenance and you will then only lose fat weight.

Yes, it's very hard in the beginning, but after you get over that sugar hill it's great. You'll feel better, look better. The best part for me is that all those calorie dense carbohydrate foods I use to love, all taste like garbage to me now. Bread is junk. Cake, junk. Oats, 50 grain bread, any wheat product, all poison for your body. Real food becomes more flavorful too. You'll crave water instead of diet sodas.

Good work OP. It's spot on. I know because I live that way now.
