Energy expert Simmons dies in North Haven

Matthew Simmons, an international oil expert who most recently focused on developing renewable energy from the waters off Maine, died Sunday night of an apparent heart attack, his office is reporting. He was 67.

Simmons founded the Ocean Energy Institute in 2007, hosting a grand opening of its new office last month in Rockland. The goal of the think tank and venture capital fund was to attract investment in research to make Maine a global leader in offshore wind and other ocean energy sources.

According to police reports, Simmons suffered a heart attack while in a hot tub at his home on North Haven. An autopsy is planned for today in Augusta, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

I want to underline that Robin Cook was killed 6th August of 2005. The media said his death was a "suspected heart attack" after collapsing.

Yup.

That's a good idea.

But I was thinking, too, that perhaps he was about to tell something, and now he can't...

Oil industry insider Matt Simmons blew the whistle on the made-for-TV
capping of the so-called oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico Thursday, July
15, during an interview on KPFK radio, the NPR station in Los Angeles.

Simmons, former energy adviser to the second President Bush, explained
that according to his reading of the data from NOAA, the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, capping of the so-called riser
and the subsequent announcement by U.S. President Obama was “the
biggest con job we’ve ever seen.”

If there is substantial damage beneath the sea floor - and there is every indication of it - the implications for the environment are serious. Simmons stated in July, "There is no way BP would not know they were misleading everyone," and, "They would have to be deaf, dumb, and blind and they're not. These are smart guys."

Mainstream corporate "news" reporters either did not uncover what a concerned citizen land surveyor did from public records, or, as such reporters failed to do during the 911 crimes and Hurricane Katrina, the PMIC sponsors did not allow these facts to be aired just as they blocked reporters.

Instead, corporate "news" media provided their world audience with another dog and pony show including just enough truth to not be totally absurd to the causal viewer.

Also of interest is that with his expertise, Simmons believes that for people to survive, they needed to be evacuated. He predicts a heavy' resident death toll.

Didn't someone post, yesterday, that on the NH border with Canada (which is next to Maine), there were checkpoints on Interstate 93? And poster on that thread said there were black cars with yellow and blue NY plates all lined up in a row? That wouldn't be connected to Simmons' death, would it? Maybe that would be too obvious.

I hear ya. The longer it sinks in, I realize how big this is. However, like an earlier commenter said, if I tried to explain how big this is to someone I know they wouldn't understand. Kinda sad.
