Breaking: Media Already Trying to Discredit Matt Simmons

The only guy who spoke the true ends up dead. How convenient.

I'm sad that he is gone and my condolances to his family.

That said, he destroyed his own credibility at the end in my mind, when he admitted in youtube videos, that:

- he shorted BP stock,
- claimed he never shorted any other stock in his whole life,
- and went on rant mode about how BP lied about the rig fire, everytime he was interviews during this whole GOM crisis.

By July, he had destroyed all the credibility that he had built up in my mind over years of following his work.


Despite all that, he made great contributions to alternative energy. If peak-oil is right, we are going to need that someday. If abiotic-oil is right, his contributios won't mean diddly to my grand kids 100 years from now.

So now the question becomes...who gets to play Matt Simmons in the (I think, inevitable) hollywood movie about the BP oil spill?

It's got the potential to be a great conspiracy film along the lines of 'The Parallax View', 'Three Days of the Condor ' or 'The Manchurian Candidate'.

I do believe he was murdered. But, why? I think it would be something financial-related since that was his field.

ALl his gloom & doom talk related to the oil spill was just BS as anyone can plainly see, since there is basically NOTHING going on with that anymore.
