There are several unwritten rules when it comes to catching -- or attempting to catch -- foul balls and home runs at a baseball game.

For example: kids get top priority over adults. Always. This is not up for debate. Also: guys must protect their date from getting hit on the elbow with screaming line drives. A Houston Astros fan, identified only as "Bo," violated the latter on Monday night when he completely whiffed on a line drive off the bat of Chris Johnson, allowing his date, identified as "Sarah," to get plunked on her right elbow.

And he doesn't even give her the ball. Smooth, Bo. Very smooth. Here's what Sarah had to say about the incident and her courageous, coordinated date, via MLB.com:

"As soon as we got here and I saw where we were sitting, I said 'Baby, we're going to get hit,'" the woman said when interviewed during the game. "He said, 'No, I'll catch it if you do. We just had this conversation and sure enough, the ball comes at me. He just bailed."

And Bo's excuse? "The ball was coming up and I was going to catch it and it was in the lights and I lost track of it."
