They could have easily kept Matty boy OFF teevee, but they didn't. In fact, anything they don't want doesn't get shown. You have Matt talking about the "problems" for several days, even telling people to evacuate the Gulf.

Now he's supposedly dead. I think he's in his bunker, and the real doom is around the corner.
