So, Regional Manager Stops By and Says "Pack up Your Yard Sale, Or I will Call POLICE!'
I am trying to raise money to get out of my lease-reletting fee and travel light when I move. I paid the city for two days of yard sale permit. The regional manager stops by and tells me I should have asked permission to have a yard sale at the property and to pack it up or he will call the police.
This management company has been featured on our local news for being negligent. This is a new property manager and he is already putting his foot in the grave.

Yeah, 55 dollars and then I have to shut it down! Jeez has everyone gone crazy! I just wanted to get up the 637.00 re-letting fee to get out and he stops by and says "pack it up!". It is not like this is my business. I don't have yard sales all the time-I am not some Roma gypsy.

Are you an American, or a prisoner? You choose. I say, fuck'em, and I would still have the yard sale. Can the "management" legally have the police stop you? Under what charge? They all better have a ordinance to reference for what you are doing wrong.

This is a prefect plan to get out of your lease. Let them boot you out.

I am also from cali, there are no laws that prevent you from having a yard sale. The management is bluffing...call'em on it!

Right. All it says in the lease is basically that you cannot-solicit business or contributions. Oh it also says we need written permission to light a candle.
Is a yard sale a business?

I fought the law and I won

against a parking ticket

city had no parking signs at all where I had been parking for over a year and they just decided to give me a ticket

that being said, these city state county fees and penalties are really getting out of hand

I really pray the system reboots

Tell him to go ahead and call. Skip the "shove it", for the sake of grace, and show the Police your permit, if and when they appear. Then let the management work it out with city hall. City rules should be considered superior and prevail.

Your sale should be concluded by then and you might generate an opportunity to cause management more trouble than they expected.
