If anything, this shows that 'Jew' does not describe a race, it describes a religion.

To those who believe they are 'Jewish' in race: Did you know the Torah states that your supposed father Abraham was a Gentile named Abram? Chew on that. Abraham was called by faith, and his seed is of faith, not of blood. Also, through scriptures it can be seen that additional Gentiles would occasionally be added among the 'Jews', such as Ruth.

As far as the 'Jews' being race, It seems this idea is pushed by children of religious Jews who do not want to practice the religion, but still want to have some kind of cultural identity. Thus 'Jew' becomes an awkward either/or of race and religion, and atheists can run around saying they're Jewish.

There are Jews from all races, and all Jews today descend from a Gentile who converted at some point... whether that be the Khazarians, Arabs, Africans or Chinese, or Abraham himself.
