Yes, me too.
Happy to have a job.

We had an ad for an open position this past month and over 300 people applied for the position...incredible!
So many were actually overqualified.
Some held Masters and Doctorates...when only a Bachelors was required.

It was tough to call those who interviewed and tell them someone else had been chosen for the position. I could hear the disappointment in their voices.
Anyway, tough times for too many. Let's hope things get better soon.

Investors will face defaults on government bonds given the burden of aging populations and the difficulty of securing more tax revenue, according to Morgan Stanley. “Governments will impose a loss on some of their stakeholders,” Arnaud Mares, an executive director at Morgan Stanley in London, wrote in a research report today. “The question is not whether they will renege on their promises, but rather upon which of their promises they will renege, and what form this default will take.” The sovereign debt crisis is global “and it is not over,” the report said.

The Federal Reserve Board sought to delay the court-ordered release of documents identifying banks that might have failed without the U.S. government
bailout while it considers an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Fed asked the U.S. Court of Appeals in New York yesterday to delay implementation of a ruling that compels the central bank to release the documents.
“The stay is necessary to permit the board to consult with the Department of Justice regarding an appeal to the Supreme Court,” Fed spokesman David Skidmore
said.

The appeals court on Aug. 20 denied the Fed’s request to reconsider its decision requiring it to release records of the $2 trillion U.S. loan program. If the stay is granted, the central bank and the Clearing House Association
LLC, an organization of 20 commercial banks that joined the Fed in defense of the lawsuit, will have 90 days to petition the Supreme Court to consider an appeal.

The Clearing House has said already it will ask the high court to rule on the case. At issue are 231 “term sheets” documenting Fed loans to financial firms during
2008. The records, which include the banks’ names and the amounts borrowed, were originally requested by late Bloomberg News reporter Mark Pittman through the Freedom of Information Act, which allows citizens access to government papers.

Investors withdrew a net $7.1 billion from equity funds tracked worldwide in the week to Aug. 25 and put some $5.2 billion into bonds amid concern economies
in the U.S. and Europe are losing momentum, EPFR Global said.


A net $5.4 billion was redeemed from U.S. stock funds, while inflows into emerging markets were the lowest in 13 weeks, EPFR said in an e-mailed statement. Developing-nation bond funds took in $1 billion, on course for a record-setting year,
while U.S. bond funds drew $2.5 billion, according to the Cambridge, Massachusetts based
research firm.

The MSCI AC World Index, tracking developed and emerging markets, has dropped 4.2 percent this month after government data signaled a slowdown in the U.S., China and Japan and Standard & Poor’s lowered Ireland’s credit rating. Concern

GOLD, SILVER, PLATINUM AND PALLADIUM
Very surprisingly gold and silver had a dynamite day on Wednesday. Spot gold rose $7.70 to $1,239.50, as October rose $8.70. Spot silver racked up $0.65 to $19.02,
as September rose $0.54. Today’s action looms large and portends of big breakout for silver and gold. Gold open interest rose 5,705 contracts to 556,464, as silver OI rose
1,194 to 124,185. Over the past five days, in the face of the gold and silver expiry, gold is only off 2/10 of 1% and silver 5/10 of 1%. The gold suppression cartel has been
stopped dead in their tracks and $1,500 to $1,600 lies ahead. Silver is headed to $25 to $30. Big physical buyers are chasing the central banks out of the action. The XAU
rose 4.23 to 177.39 and the HUI rose 13.75 to 471.71. In the silver pits for JP Morgan Chase this could be the beginning of a move that could break their control of the silver market. We also hear howls of pain from the fractionally hedged LBMA, Comex, GLD and SLV. Wait until the defaults and force majeures happen. All of Hades will erupt.

Again, unless you absolutely have to store gold and silver with another party, please take delivery. When this hits there will be massive problems and many companies will
go bankrupt. A very bullish factor is that newsletter publishers are still massively negative on gold and silver and the public does not yet have a clue as to what is going
on.
