I help regular people recover monies owed to them by people. Business dealings gone bad, that sort of thing.
The gentlemen I am helping got taken for $10K. He has a kid with cerebral palsey so its hurt him bad.
The usual method is to perform a skip trace on the subject.
It revealed little more than what was already known, except for info suggesting a domain name website and forum is registered in his name.
I registered on that forum so I could get a confirmaqtion email.
I viewed the message source info and it came back with this gobbledegook.
I don't usually go to these lengths, but I have taken a special interest in this instance.
I am not about to post the websites address here, for obvious reasons.

How do the other people know you are not some stalker trying to kill someone who pissed in your wheaties?

Only reputable professional commercial agents can get a skip trace done, and that leaves a paper trail, so your concerns are unwarranted I believe.

Why waste time trying to crack some unknown cipher?

It is just too easy to scramble data so that a super computer could not crack the message in a thousand years.

Don't believe me? Put on your thinking cap and study the following very simple data scrambling algorithm. I wrote the following code from scratch in less than 5 minutes. I could write the matching de-scrambling algorithm in less than 10 minutes. But, the point is that modern day computers can scramble and unscramble data in ways that are impossible to crack without the scrambling algorithm.
