It appeared to be stationery for a 30 minute period or so then when we realized it was actually moving away from us it disappeared rather quickly. Just disappeared. No explosion of any kind. We watched it through binoculars trying to figure out what it was. My husband thought it was a plane on fire because of the rock/metal that could clearly be seen at the front of it. You know how bit a 747 is at 35,000 ft. The “saucer” as at least 5 times that large. Now consider that there was no sound (no sonic boom) and you recognize that it had to be 10’s of miles high making the thing much, much bigger. It was slow too compared to the meteorites. (I saw maybe 5 of them during the evening flash across the sky leaving a streak that would be 30degrees long, not quite as bright as saturn was last night which would disappear in under a second.) Much faster than a jet of course. But consider that as I was watching it and had to get up off the lawn chair to continue watching before it disappeared behind the roof, so I had to move about 4 ft to stand at the decks rail, and that I did not lose site of it while doing this, you might be to determine more accurately how fast it was going. Additionally, if we assume it was as big as a 747, then that 747 would have been flying over at less than 10,000ft. " Truth2 |
