Recently some astronomers have done an infrared survey of the Milky Way and determined that that Earth is not originally part of the Milky Way but is a part of the Sagittarius Dwarf galaxy which has been torn apart by and is joining the larger Milky Way. This is also why the Milky Way galaxy in the night sky is 90 degrees to the spin direction of our solar system.

It is exactly because of my limited knowledge and understanding of the Universe that I desire to know more about it.

Can you tell us why the Solar System spins 90 degrees to the remainder of the Milky Way? In an astronomy lecture I recently attended, the lecturer said that as the dust particles and hydrogen atoms they begin to coalesce they start to spin which causes the disc like shape of most galaxies. However he could not explain why the Solar System does not also spin in the same direction.

Another astronomer claims that the Universe is held together by electricity rather than gravity. Can you explain how this could be possible?
