they seem quite different than channelings.

In fact I believe they talk about the problem with channelings:

They mention how focus points of higher awareness (beings?) made connections with us through volunteers on earth. These messages contained exercises in discernment and much of it was filled with truths but this was drained of energy by victims wanting their personal problems solved for them. So the focus points were withdrawn. Some volunteers continued to put out messages faking the information anyways because they enjoyed the notoriety or whatnot.Sounds a lot to me like what maybe happened with the channeling fiasco we see now? Is channeling an attempt to raise awareness gone wrong?
