Human billboard, David Jonathan Winkelman, arrested and mugshot published of tattoo

US man David Jonathan Winkelman, 48, and his stepson Richard Goddard tattooed the logo of a radio station on his forehead 10 years ago, after hearing a radio DJ announced a six-figure prize for anyone who inked themselves in such a way, Gawker.com reported.

But when the pair from Iowa went to the station to collect their prize with the words "Quad City Rocker" and "93 Rock" showing prominently on their faces, they were told it was all a joke and no money would change hands.

Shocked, the two men sued the radio station. Winkelman eventually dropped his claim, while Goodard did not show up in court and his case was dismissed.

Winkelman, nicknamed the "human billboard" by some US media outlets, could have lived down his mistake in relative obscurity if he had not failed to appear in court for a misdemeanour charge last week.

He was arrested by police and his mugshot was posted on the Scott County Iowa sheriff's office website and it was not long before it went viral.
