Therefore, this kicks their Global Warming BS out the window! This is so. A+ |

Archaeologists at a melt site in Norway have discovered a wealth of items that include weapons and shoes among other everyday items. The find is believed to be from thousands of years ago, well before Vikings roamed the area. Among the items they are attempting to preserve is a 3400 year old leather shoe, a perfectly preserved arrow complete with feather and even ancient smells released from preserved reindeer droppings. *pic of shoe at url [link to www.forevergeek.com] So why all the fuss about global warming (Climate Change). It's obvious at one time people roamed the poles! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1110690You're gonna have a long wait. [link to www.iceagenow.com] that is fascinating proof that the South Pole is getting way buried under ice and snow The Navy found an 1100 mile ridge under the Arctic that has become volcanically active -- this would account for the Arctic melting, and the coming ice age is apparent from what is happening at the South Pole [link to iceagenow.com] also discusses what one of the posters wanted to know about above -- our orbits. It is true, sometimes our orbit is more circular and sometimes more elliptical -- so we go through periods where we are closer to the Sun and periods where we are further away. But, the pictures at the link above are fascinating (and a bit frightening). |

Quoting: Rusty ShaklefordWhy would anyone pay tax on pollution. Doesn't that seem like a revolving door if your a rich company that pollutes the environment to make it's products. Why stop polluting??? I pay taxes... Stupid... I don't know what you are saying. But if companies have to pay extra because they harm the environment, they could and probably would think more about how to make it less polluted. Right now, people who cut down trees do not have to pay when the hillside becomes a landslide and destroys a lot of houses. Companies who put their products in 300 plastic packagings also do not pay all the costs associated with getting the plastic recycled or back in the process. Taxing pollution works 2 ways. Companies get a more 'real cost' of their product and it should push their innovation towards less pollution... It is not YOU who has to pay that tax. In a competitive system the less polluted alternatives will be there or come up, and you can pay just the same as you did before... I found a very interesting news article from 2007: Old shoe - even older Subject: Recent Discoveries An old leather shoe discovered in the Jotunheimen Mountains, and first estimated to be around 1000 years old, turns out to be more than 3,000 years old. The shoe was found in an old snowdrift in August last year. We first believed that the shoe was only 1000 years old, but to our great surprise the analysis of the leather showed it to be 3,400 years old, says Oppland County Archaeologist Espen Finstad to Aftenposten. It explains how wooly mammoths found frozen in siberia are uncovered with spring grasses still in their mouths as the were flash frozen.
