I dont think most people who eat at fast food joints are big on animal welfare..

WTF? who cares how it was killed. the end result it a sandwich or nuggets, thats all the consumer wants.

I really don't know, I understand it Halal is 'humane', but it is done as a ritual.

To me it is underhanded & dishonest not to let the customers know, the second article shows that the McDonald's in Britain have started letting it's customers know, but not before a big stink about it.

I personally have now banned Micky D's. Not only for this, but because of a video I saw here a wk. or so ago on their processed chicken.... gross!

pfffft, I could care less. I was not aware of this, and I am sure there are others that were not aware of it too. The reason for my post.

Halal and Kosher are both cruel forms of animal slaughter. The normal method is to use a bolt gun to the head which instantly causes brain death and the animal has no opportunity to feel pain. Modern abbatoirs actually use some very sophisticated methods to ensure the animals feel no stress up to the moment of execution based on studies of autistic patients whose brain patterns are very similar to cows and sheep.

Halal and Kosher require that the animal be alive while they are bled. It is a a horrible way to die.

Never ever buy Halal meat -- you are supporting a barbaric practice that is completely unnecessary.

Reason enough for me to WANT TO KNOW. As a PAYING Christian customer, I have that right.

The person carrying out the killing has to recite an Arabic verse at the time.

I think we should not overlook the supernatural aspect though , the slaughter man's prayer is said to Allah, and whether we look at this as religion or psychology , fact is it is a force for Islam .

I knew this was more than just about 'food' products.

Google Halal in US markets. You will be surprised to find this 'ritual' is being used in almost everything we eat and purchase, from baby formula to heath care products. I don't believe in 'conspiracy, but this one has me wondering.
