Christ is my Savior. Twenty-something years now. Not a problem. The only thing I find more startling than your automatic assumption that everyone is some kind of wanton evildoer is your belief that God cannot save all, and will burn the evidence like some shady weasel. But I actually understand as I too believed these things for a long time. God's purifying fire was an inferno of horror with no constructive aim whatsoever, and "judgment" was an act of disposal instead of a rectification and balancing of accounts. Bottom line is, you get what you're looking for in there. Lots of people are content with the ugly stuff - to each his own, I guess. Abraham believed in his heart that there is a ONE God, Almighty God, a God of JUSTICE and a God of LOVE. God Almighty. This is what is accredited as RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Because Abraham BELIEVED IN THE GOD, GOD ALMIGHTY.

And who validates Abraham's Faith but Jesus Christ? The Son of God, God in the FLESH who came and died for Abraham's FAITH and those who also put their Faith in Jesus Christ. For by His death and resurrection and the blood He spilled for us, we are forgiven our sins when we ask of Him.

Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the FAITH of the RIGHTEOUS, for He was sent by God to fulfill the FAITH placed in Him, God, Jesus Christ.

For how eager is God to reveal Himself to those who earnestly seek Him?

God does not "hide", He wants to be known, by YOU.

Abraham despite all the famous "gods" or "idols" of his day, rejected it all because he realized that all were nothing but lies. He sought after the TRUE GOD, God Almighty.

Also, as an aside, how can you worship buddha at all? After all he was but a man and no god at all. That in itself should have been more than enough common sense to not worship any such deities.

I never said God made a mistake. I am saying MAN is capable of making great mistakes. The bible has been in 1000s of hands, translated into 10+ versions in English alone, into different languages where passages had to be completely re-written because not all languages have exact meaning for our words. You don't believe, somewhere along the way, the meaning might have gotten lost on a couple of verses here and there?

Or do you honestly think 2000 years later, after many translations, many versions, that the words are exact "as they came from god?" That can't even be the truth. The difference between the KJV and the NIV vary greatly.

I do believe God is real. Just because I don't see him as a vengeful believe-in-me-or-burn-in-hell God doesn't mean I don't believe in him.

I don't believe in using a book to find spirituality between God and myself. When you put the book down, you can see so much more.

I'm not putting any faith in man. We are an imperfect species. That's why I doubt the book. 2000 years of human meddling, especially by the Catholic church, can lead to changes.

That's why I work with God directly, because I have faith in him and not in man's edited, heavily translated version of his words.

If you have no Faith in God, that is your problem?
For I cannot fill you with Faith, only God and His Son, Jesus Christ can.

Rather, I will pray that God will give you Faith so that you can believe and be saved.
