Chile-we drilled through and saved those miners.

Haiti, tsunami, etc etc etc-we give more of our money than any other country.

We liberated Iraq and Kuwait- say what you want about the wars but no parents want their kids to die in battle but they go anyway

IT would be nice if once in a while our politicians had great things to say about our country. I am sick of the current administration apologizing for our great country and am sick of lazy Americans always playing the victim card. Shit needs to change.

Can we somehow find some politicians who are proud of our country, citizens, and businesses?

It probably became the norm when the UK also made it shameful to take pride in your country other than during sporting events.

Who would have thought it?

I mean after all those years of presenting America as a shining beacon of liberty!

Now it's genuinely on a par with Nazi Germany, lacking though the clarity and honesty of the Third Reich.

Even I am shocked at how far America has fallen.

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding. Parents who love their children attempt to correct behavior they find problematic. They might remark on this to others but it in no way signifies that they hate them.

If you love a country you want it to live up to the promise and history of it not what you may recognize as exploiting human resources for reasons otherwise not compatible with this.

You might want to revisit what you wrote and find the truth of the liberation that you refer to and how that directly relates to the problems inherent in what you assert.

With respect to Haiti, we did not want others to be there and have a contest for influence. Haiti is sitting on a huge oil reserve and also other vast deposits of interest to us. You might also see how we had an entire naval strike force off the shores during this period which is interesting in itself. Cuba had doctors trained for such things and desired to address the issues therein and we denied them so it is not because others do not offer, dear.

During Katrina why not ask those who suffered our lack of aid therein. The UK sent over hundreds of thousands of MREs for aid for Katrina and they were forced to turn around and the food was never received by those who would have benefited.

It is not hate when you try to turn the ship of fools around.

You were hated waaaaaayyy before Obama. All the cia sponsored wars, support for dictators and unfair world freemarket rules are a burden on many nations. We all see UN and IMF and WORLDBANK as american tools to control the world.
Your former president shouted for nationalism, calling it patriotism. Ofcourse you will also have a reaction to that. And some people in America know about the empire and it's deceit full politics. Why couldn't they speak about it? Maybe they do not even hate, they just want to make it better....

That has little to do with it.

You have invaded three innocent countries in the past ten years.

Speaking of Haiti where has all the money and supplies gone that were sent over and mrs. Obama is still groveling for. We had donated enough money and supplies to rebuild that small country so whose pockets are being lined.

The “ship of fools” currently in the White House certainly is filled with hate for America and Americans.

I definitely do not agree with the trend of sending American dollars (and lives) off to Middle Eastern shitholes like Iraq and Afghanistan, but there are no innocent countries, my friend.

None that have survived into the modern era, anyhow.

Re: When did it become the norm for the American politicians and the citizens to hate america?
As for politicians who whine and badmouth America - that will only stop as soon as voters stop electing people like that.

And no, electing Republicans isn't the answer, either.

We need to purge political influence from BOTH major parties, reform our campaign finance and election laws and start electing serious-minded people to office.

Your parties are killing each other. Reps totally destroy the image of the dems. Your parties should take it down a notch.
Nobody elects people who do not like America, and no president hates America. But the parties and everything that is said make it impossible to see any reality here...

You obviously did not understand what I wrote. We are in Haiti to control Haiti and, yes, the money that we (supposedly spent) should be showing more promise than it has.In terms of restructuring.
