You people forget why welfare is there, how good it worked and how hard it has been fought for. Everything before 1930 was shit. Only rich people vote, are free and count. But you people forget and destroy the one and only move towards equal treatment for all. You adore the rich and despise the poor. It is a recipe for unequality and abusement for decades to come. Your anger should be at the rich, but it is not, you are not alone, the US is full of misguided souls who forgot what their grandparents fought for... Time is a great teacher, unfortunately it kills all its pupils. |

Quoting: Frigg Stuyvesant...I prefer cowbell, mahself ;) Food stamps: Believe it or not, there are people in this country who have NEVER paid a penny for food, and these same people have an absolute shit-fit when their benefits are reduced in the slightest, i.e. "you mean I'm gonna have to use MY MONEY to buy food?!!" If/when the food stamp program comes to an end... |

Let's get truly representative government and get rid of the Fed, and put an honest well controlled banking system in its place, then we can discuss the viability of social safety nets. You may find that under a good government and better banking system they will be no longer needed. |

User ID: 458990 United States 10/22/2010 04:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP- I think you are right about the ensuing chaos if this country cuts off the welfare. The problem with this country is the generational welfare. People on welfare seem to have as many children as they desire and then the children become welfare assets as the parent(s) get paid more to have them. I know taxpayers are working as hard as they can to keep everyone fat and happy, but since their jobs are disappearing they can't contribute (by threat) like they did. Something will give eventually. The drug addicts will be the most desperate. I live in the middle of no where and rarely go out and when I do I either see drug buys going on (multiple at a time) or drug addicts just standing and what? Looking I guess for an opportunity Last Edited by Ohwow! on 10/22/2010 04:17 AM |

I think pandemonium would be an understatement in large cities. The small towns would fare better, people have no choice but to pull together in time of crisis. I see the neighborhood around my house falling to shit in less than a year. It had slowly been re gentrifying over the last decade. Now it seems that things are slipping backwards. 3 of my neighbors have been strong arm robbed. I am not going to be a victim. Cui Bono? |
