Trust me, there will be nobody coming to help you. They couldn't save Boulder, the entire Denver area is a wasteland in the time I come from, which is, your eventual futures. It's like that all over. You go on pretending, and the few who are prepared will survive.

Really, people need to relax...Yes, things would change in an instant, but its not the end of the world.

We scattered into the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains for 17 years. There were occasionally other people we met, passers by and such. They shared any news they might have heard, and we shared our food and shelter. We lived off of the land and hunted most days. Storing our food in caves with snow that never melted if it wasn't in the sun. The hunting was sparse but enough to get us by along with our food stores. We had access to fresh water and water filtration. Lived in a cabin and chopped much firewood for our stove which heated the cabin and cooked our meals. You really have to age your firewood, at least 2 years. Most people think you can just cut it and burn it right away. I will admit I never had to start a fire, my father had a box of several hundred lighters and matches and flint and fuel. Basically anything we would ever need to start a fire, but sometimes simple kindling was hard to come by. We burned the pages of many books crumpled up to start fires. We hated burning books, so of course we ranked them most favorite to least favorite. Then we didn't feel quite so bad that it would be a book we would miss.

Build a generator.

Develop way to produce electricity again.

Seriously, it's not like the methods of producing electricity will cease to exist. It doesn't take a genius in electrical engineering to do this.
