A Morris Communications station, 750KFQD, has had a guy called Dan Fagan on in the afternoons for years. He has been an ardent Joe Miller supporter for a while now. On his Thursday afternoon program, he became enraged that the Alaska Supreme Court is going to allow a printed list of write in candidate names to anyone who asks. (Lisa Murkowski, incumbent Senator, lost the primary and started a write in campaign after breaking her promise to support the Republican nominee)

Now, I am sure you are thinking, what's the big deal there? Actually, it is expressly forbidden by state law, and has been for 50 years. The Lisa Murkowski campaign filed suit to have the lists provided, and the supreme court agreed after being reversed in superior court. If the lists are handed out, it would have had her name on it-many people are probably going to have a hard time spelling it correctly so their vote will count.....

OK So this has been a hot topic locally, and most people were pretty upset that the Alaska Supreme Court changed the rules in the election process just four days before the vote.

Some guy called into the Dan Fagan show on Thursday and said he was going to go register as a sign in candidate as a protest against the ruling. That fired up Mr Fagan big time, and he urged other people to do the same-which, by the way, is PERFECTLY LEGAL. Anyone can sign up, really.

At some point on Thursday afternoon, a guy named John Tracey called the management at KFQD, and requested that Dan be removed from the air. The reason was "electioneering" and having a hand in altering the electoral process or some such shit. He seemingly "reminded" the station that they were wide open for a lawsuit. Ahem.

Dan Fagan was off the air on Friday and there have been no new posts by him on his Facebook fan page, or his conservative media website called The Alaska Standard.

The troubling part of this is that John Tracey works for, or is partner in, Bradley Reed Communications. BR is the biggest and most successful advertising company in the state. Which would not be an issue.....except for the fact that their highest profile client currently is......

And to further complicate matters.......John Tracey used to be Dan Fagan's boss, back when Dan was a reporter for KTUU.
