Anonymous Coward User ID: 1128071 United States 11/09/2010 05:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why play the game? You'll probably be living it in real life give or take a few years. Not to patronize, but you should be spending your time getting ready for the real thing instead of playing games. That said, yes I want the game and am a recovering counterstrike addict, but I've broke the habit and need to focus on what is real and coming. |

Although I was disappointed when the game suddenly stopped once I cleared out that big memorial building. But yeah, SAVE UP YOUR BOTTLE CAPS!!! They are used for MONEY after nukular wars!!!! |

I'm hoping it gives me some sort of insight on how to prepare for something like that happening. I know it won't be the same, but it might give a naive woman like me some ideas on survival and what might lie ahead in the wake of a nuclear fallout. :gp81: "Staring down the hole again. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1151940 United States 11/09/2010 05:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is no fucking way Fallout new vegas can teach you anything about a nuclear aftermath except how your ass falls asleep while playing it. What the hell is wrong with you people?? Not a bad game though. It's basically a heavily modded fallout 3. |

I just finished Fallout 3, and now i have a HUUUUGE collection of bottle caps and ball bearings!!! OK, enlighten me - assuming you are serious. How does sitting there playing it train you? Does it train you for combat? Much better games for that I am sure, call of duty, counterstrike, among others. Does it teach you how to grow your own food? Does it teach you how to set up an electronic security perimeter, how to wire it up? Does it teach you to make allies and build a community? Teach you how to barter? To make things like wine for barter purposes? Teach you how to detect radiation? I suspect most of these things you have to get off your butt to learn how to do, not from a game. Although I can understand thinking it trains us helps rationalize the fun we are having playing it. |

Quoting: The_Returnerpoor you your only alternative is to download it yourself for free(dont you hate that?!) as a cracked game in wich you dont need a steam account (i got the same) sucks when they force you to go against their rules... but they should have just made it availble without an internet connection anyway.. and the cracked version shows its possible |

You have to aim for the legs to stop things running away and aim for the head for the kill shot!!!! Of course it doesnt' teach you how to grow food!!!! You can't there is fallout everywhere!!! You eat things like radroach meat!!! Grow food, what are you on about!!! And it teaches you how to FIX RADIATION POISONING, something you DIDN"T EVEN MENTION!!!!! So looks like your training is LACKING!!! |

I've gone from gaming so much that more important things got neglected, to not gaming at all then back to where I am now- playing games for fun Think I'll give Fallout NV a miss for now; if there's anywhere near as much micromanagement in it as there is in Fallout 3, there just aren't enough hours in a day, and I refuse to be tempted to find them It is the Thunderbolt that steers the Universe - Heraclitus |

Here's a tip: You can store your stuff at Victor's Shack in Goodsprings and it will not disappear. (if you put it in the desk, the oven, or the ammo boxes) But it is really buggy, so save often. And go here: [link to fallout.wikia.com] It's better than Gamefaqs (for this game anyway) |
