[link to www.cigtechs.com] Haven't touched a cigarette in 2 weeks now.. after getting a good e-cig setup.. I highly recommend the Blackhawk manual deluxe starters kit .. Also get a few flavors of e-juice .. Peach is AWESOME...as is vanilla .. Best investment/treat for myself I have bought .. You are still getting your nicotine, without all the harmful things that are in burning cigarettes.. no tar, no carcinogens.. OP, read up on em.. no nasty smoke, no 2nd hand smoke.. just clean vapor .. that dissipates rather quickly.. also you can use these pretty much anywhere there is no smoking.. You need to keep your mouth busy for the first few days at least. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1131863Nah, buy $50 worth of herbs, take two hits and forget you ever smoked, every time... When I had the urge to smoke I did 25 push-ups.. It made me feel good to do something with a positive impact that had tangible positive results as well. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1170696oops forgot to add the quote, sorry buddy..but actually, all kidding aside for a sec..good idea to replace it with a good habit..too many replace it with a bad one. sunglassed woman User ID: 1170968 United States 11/21/2010 05:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I quit 12 year ago. I'm not gonna fool yah..it was hell. I finally used the patch for a month. I still get that urge to smoke sometimes but I fight it (yes, I've given in a time or two), but after the first few weeks you will feel so much better physically and mentally. Plus you will smell better and the next cigarette won't occupy your mind. Face it. If you are an addicted smoker; you are a junkie. I was. It's tough but worth it. They didn't have the E smoke around when I quit but I'd investigate it for those awful first few weeks. If you are going to do it cold turkey ....keep your mouth full. The best of luck. You are doing this for all the right reasons. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1168013 United States 11/21/2010 06:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | usually we confuse hunger pains for need to smoke, so drink a cup of water every time you feel an urge. Do not stuff yourself with food or beverage to curb the craving. I know you said you have breathing problems but if you could do some sort of exercise that got you breathing heavily, by the time you and your body calmed down to normal you'd feel already how much better and easier breathing is. Every time you get urge just say, "I've been smoke free for over A YEAR now, why would i start now"?! man i could go on for a long time giving you suggestions, i almost quit cold turkey last time i woke up (24 hours ago). I find it very easy to quit, whoever reads this, up to 5 hours before sleep do not smoke. When you wake up you already breath soo much better, will power to stick with the quit increases with that technique. If i had a kid i would get very upset with him if he smoked, but if i yell at him he might smoke to spite me.. i'd have to show him how much it really hurts me, even if i need to fake being all dramatically upset or even cry! No drugs for my kid, just love, learning, and plenty of discipline (but not the kind or way kids hate). Good luck, i wish you the best, many people are joining you and following suit, i've noticed MANY quitters within the last few months. |

I bought one of those two weeks ago, and I haven't bought a pack of cigarettes since. I bummed two off a friend of mine, but that was it. And I don't even use the e-cigarette thing that much either for some reason. I take a puff or two, and that's all I seem to need. When I had cigarettes, when I lit one up, I pretty much had to smoke the whole thing. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1077460 United States 11/21/2010 07:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Eat black licorice...it is used as a favoring in cigarettes. Don't eat too much or out will make your blood pressure go up. Good n Plenty candy has licorice in them. Better still, just get regular black licorice. When you crave a cigarette, get thru first three minutes to five minutes...** use a diversion to get mind off craving** . Anything to divert your mind. You can do it. Congratulated. Soon you will hate anything related to cigarettes...taste, smoke, smell. |
Anonymous User ID: 1152192 United States 11/21/2010 09:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Licorice is good also lemon drops, tic tacs, some kind of hard candy in your mouth. Keep your favorite fresh fruits around. Take up jogging or just go for a walk when the urge hits you if you can. Put all the ashtrays away. Air out your house and clothes. The suggestion for putting aside the money you would have spent on cigs is good. Don't rule out using a patch for awhile. Many people have had good results with them. |

Quoting: DeltaUpSo I quit..cold turkey. Not easy,I poured my morning cup o joe,and that's when I usually light one up on the porch..guess I better quit the coffee too..wish me luck..and anyone else who has to deal with me.lol #1 cigarette smoking is not a habit, its a chemical addiction and you are an addict. secondly, I used the patch for 4 days Day 1-put patch on after last cigarette, mine (2/4/01@9:15 pm) Day 2-put on second patch, same time as first, left 1st patch on Day 3-put on third patch, same time as first, left 1st & 2nd patch on Day 4- added no new patches Day 5- took off all 3 patches and have never even had a puff since the first patch. OP, Good Luck I smoked 2 packs a day for 21 years. Will be Smoke free 10 years on Feb 4, 2011 My Lungs never got dark or accumulated tar because I ran 10 miles a day during my smoking years.
