AND there is ALWAYS a cashier right there to help, take care of errors, etc.. So the SAME ONE cashier who would be in a lane taking care of those "15 items or less" customers is now manning the self checkout lanes. Duh.

Wow, you guys still go to supermarkets? I've been ordering groceries online for about five years. Home delivered on the weekend. Pay via a mobile credit card machine when they arrive. Delivery cost 0$ to about $7AUD depending on the delivery window.

No lines, no registers, no cashiers, only drivers and box boys.

Plus, despite all the "Now with more lanes open" Walmart commercials, you still have to wait in line for 25 minutes while neanderthal woman attempts to check out the food-stamp-carrying, escalade driving, welfare loving, low life who coincidentally is trying to buy the lone unscannable item in the store. This prompts Lola to to call her homo erectus boss over who has to make a "magic" cordless phone (status symbol) call to the man behind the curtain to get a verdict. Then you get to the register. Lola never even looks at you. When you say "HI" all she does is grumble and look at her watch. Makes you want to grab her by the neck, shake her like a chicken, and yell "Hey!!! I'm talking to you!".
