The event is beautiful, incredible & terrifying as well as oddly transfixing. When they fall towards the end I was AMAZED everyone survived. If I am ever lucky enough to be there in person for one of the events, I will happily remain a spectator  "In the city of Tarragona, Spain, castellers gather every two years to see who can build the highest, most intricate human castles. It requires astonishing strength, finesse, and balance. Not to mention courage." This video explains the tradition & has a lot more footage of past Castells. "These amazing human towers developed throughout Catalonia, but it is popular all over Spain. The performers are called castellers and they have strict rules about how to put up a human tower." Quoting: Mrs. SmithPretty wild, when the "castles" collaspe it's a wonder to me that people don't get seriously injured. They do wear helmets but as a mom i cannot see myself letting my little one do it. I'd be beside myself and most likely unable to even watch if my child was climbing on the top of the tower. The looks on the childrens' faces as they wait to go is such a mix of emotions,from elation to outright terror.I bet they never forget the experience.
