Updates for string of Shark attacks in Egypt, experts arrive in Sharm to study shark behavior!!

Nuweiba is beautiful, and yes you are correct, people come to Egypt Red Sea to see sharks. However in Sharm, there aren't many. I didn't hear of many sharks in Nuweiba/Dahab, I myself have not seen one there. In Sharm, you find them only if you are lucky at the outer reefs of Straits of Tiran.

This shark (Longimanus) that was attacking people is normally in the open ocean, or near reefs that are out in the open ocean. Also the mako shark that was caught at the beach is highly unusual and extremely rare. There is a strange event happening that caused these type of sharks to come close to shore. That is what is unusual.

People who want to see sharks dive in the south of the Red Sea, Marsa Alam, Elphinstone, Brother Islands and St. Johns. All far from shore and many hours to cruise. And those place are not permitted for snorkeling or swimming by the way.

My theory is...I think that shark is protecting something, no idea what though. If it were a hungry shark those people would have been dinner, as luck would have it they were just driven off,and they are alive so far, and my intentions are they will continue to recover! If your gonna be dinner then your dead if your messing in things that aren't any of your business you get a beating as a lesson to stay AWAY!!!


Some truth and logic behind your theory - however the curious thing still is that this type of shark should not be at a beach, it also has not been seen in these areas, in fact, no sharks have been seen there by ppl diving over 20 years or as quoted by another professional that there were no sharks in this area the last 10-15 years.
What's causing it to show up and act aggressive - that mystery hopefully will be solved by the experts due to arrive tomorrow.

Your "BERZERK" reference caught my eye, and my memory could be hazy but in the beginning of the "something went BEZERK" thread wasn't there some posts as to an "Orca" maybe involved in the deepwater horizon explosion? I am not gonna go hunt thru that thread to find it to lazy...but if this shark should not be there then why is it?? Obviously it's not there for dinner? so what is it doing??? Sorry for going way out there but my heart loves a good mystery :) :peace:

Yeah, what a smart statement eh? LOL

We know he's native egyptian, shokran. But what's he doing attacking people on the shore line when he's supposed to be on the reefs in the open sea down south Marsa Alam or at least in the Gulf of Aquaba? We haven't seen any of these sharks this summer when they should be there. First time this year this happened that they were not there, now we have them instead on the beaches way up north...Lets see if those smart experts will come up with an explanation as to what is going on in the Red Sea.
