WikiLeaks Supporters Aim Cyberattacks At PayPal

Since WikiLeaks published the first of more than a quarter million secret diplomatic cables a week ago, it’s faced a punishing series of cyberattacks that have drained its resources and occasionally taken the site offline. Now a few of the whistleblower site’s more aggressive supporters are going on the offensive, calling for the same sort of attacks on anyone who has betrayed the WikiLeaks cause.

On Friday, just before midnight, PayPal became the latest U.S. tech firm to distance itself from WikiLeaks when the company announced on its blog that it had cut off WikiLeaks’ account, pointing to a company policy that said its services can’t be used to fund any “activities that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity.”

The Iraq and Afghan wars are illegal activities, what is PayPal doing to stop them?
