Hi Smilin' Irish Eyes, by the way - love your Lord Chesterfield quote.

In seeking wisdom thou art wise; in imagining that thou hast attained it - thou art a fool. -- Lord Chesterfield

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 913959

Thank you, my philosophy is that all should seek knowledge of any type but to believe that you are wise is foolish as there is always someone who will know more than you. sie grin

Is it not funny - discussing Nothing can entail so many words? The simplest description of my thoughts on Nothing might be to expand on the studio description in the above video.

If one were able to vacate everything out of a given volume (by some process of force that we won't go into right here) what would it result in? Not a space with nothing in it, but a volume with no space in it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 913959

Would it truly be possible to ever vacate everything? How would you measure that all was vacated? The result of vacating everything would cause "the widget" that was vacated to implode due to pressure, unless you were able to equal the pressure inside the widget to the outside forces. Wouldn't that be the result as you described below? This is my understanding of how things work.

The phenomenon is only observable due to the space surrounding the volume. The 'inside' can only be described by the exterior behavior of space/time/matter. (Let's just call the exterior 'space'). The non-space interior could be termed a reverse singularity, in that it is akin to a black hole in that space is gravitationally attracted to it, but its existence consists of the opposite of a black hole - it is nothing rather than a concentration of matter.

Providing the non-space boundary is maintained, exterior space will gravitationally implode upon it, so we might assume that the boundary gets very, very hot.
- A fairly good description of a sun?

Best,

Yes, a very good description of a sun. Now what would happen if there is a second "sun" in our solar system? What would happen to our solar system if/when there is discovery that our system has another sun?

Thanks for responding. I am really researching plasma cosmology and trying my darnedest to comprehend what I read and listen to, relating it to easy to understand concepts.

Seems the more I discover, the more nature seems to exhibit an inherent sense of humor, all carefully designed to make me the fool on its stage.

Would it truly be possible to ever vacate everything?
I don't know. If it is possible, then I am sure nature is doing it, because it has had an awful long time to practice. Being able to draw stuff towards oneself in this mass-rare universe would seem to be a plus, and a nifty trick if the entity (rock, planet, sun, galaxy) can make more gravity without a corresponding quantity of mass.

How would you measure that all was vacated?
I don't know (Hey! I'm good at this!) ...but it seems to me that the larger and purer? The non-space volume, the greater the space implosion upon its boundary. The larger the implosion, the hotter the boundary surface?

Yes, it would seem to work that way. The big question is how can an absolute vacuum be maintained? I believe it to be a plasma phenomenon. Unfortunately, little is understood about the strange ju-ju that goes on when a high energy plasma, imbued with a dynamo effect occurs. The best description came from one of the most renowned experts in the field. He said that the electrons and protons separate into individual camps, then interact. He shrugged, smiled and said, "They dance."

Judging from the amount of binary stars out there, It would not seem untoward to consider that star reproduction may be evolutionary and continuous. Perhaps there is a physical phenomenon we as yet do not understand. I personally favor the idea that the gaseous outer planets occasionally spit out moons. After all, the solar system continues to consume matter as it makes its way about the galaxy...and we did see Shoemaker-Levy get swallowed up by Jupiter - and we're not even in a particularly dense material part of space right now.

I'll join you in that queue. So much to learn!

The more the merrier, glad to have another along for the journey. hugs

I don't know if you have had the chance to read Xenus' Petroglyph thread (chock full of great info); Sickscent also has many great threads as well. I have tried to cross reference each thread in Xenus' Petroglyph thread in the last few pages. That thread really started my journey into the world of plasma cosmology and the Electric Universe.

Re: Oh noes!! Gravity is easing it's pull!!!
...I know it might be crazy to think about or consider, but it may be possible our own actions have a combined effect on the Sun's own cycles. In reviewing the butterfly pattern in the Sun's cycles, we see that only in man's "time" has it failed to become restored to normality. It doesn't take much to induce a wobble on a gyroscope.

Good thread BTW.

How would we even know what happened with the sun prior to man? We can only theorize. There have been many theories about the sun. There have been many ancient texts that have interesting theories about Saturn being a "second sun" of a type.

Thread: ***Are we just now starting to remember? Dr Velikovsky and Cultural Amnesia***

The Saturn Myth

The Saturn theory, in addition to presenting a comprehensive model of ancient myth, offers a radically different approach to understanding the recent history of the solar system.1 Briefly summarized, the theory posits that the neighboring planets only recently settled into their current orbits, the Earth formerly being involved in a unique planetary configuration of sorts together with Saturn, Venus, and Mars. As the terrestrial skywatcher looked upwards, he saw a spectacular and awe-inspiring apparition dominating the celestial landscape. At the heart of heaven the massive gas giant Saturn appeared fixed atop the North polar axis, with Venus and Mars set within its center like two concentric orbs (see figure one, where Venus is the green orb and Mars the innermost red orb). The theory holds that the origin of ancient myth and religion—indeed the origin of the primary institutions of civilization itself—is inextricably linked to the appearance and evolutionary history of this unique congregation of planets.
