I live in the middle of the wilderness and will tell you first hand that even with a good rifle and hunting skills, it would be a struggle to get enough food to eat if the land becomes contaminated with nuclear fallout. The animals eat what the land provides them and once the land is radioactive, the animals too would become poisoned.

The Bible speaks of a time coming when the living will envy the dead. I can't think of any other scenario better fitting that prophesy than a nuclear war being fought.
