Or buy a box of kitty litter. Every little bit helps. Also most shelters can use any old, beat up sheets and towels. These animals can't help their situation. But YOU can. Please help the kittens and puppies. I started a donation annually, 3 years ago, when I started managing the apartment community I work at. We take donations for the local SPCA and take blankets, towels and dye free food for cats and dogs. Each year we increase with the quantity of our donations, but this year was the best so far. For each resident that adopts a pet from the pound or SPCA, we donate a blanket or towel, or bag of food in addition to what we collect from our residents. Remembering the animals this time of year is very important and very rewarding :) :gp81: "Staring down the hole again. Hands upon my back again. Survival is my only friend. ANYWAY SORRY SO LONG BUT WANTED TO SHARE MY STORY ...TO GIVE IS A WONDERFUL TREASURE. I DO IT OFTEN.... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1175968What a great story. That boy will remember you forever as his special "Christmas Angel". And, OP, thanks so much for posting this. I used to volunteer for a group that made Sunday dinners for the homeless. I noticed that several of them had dogs. There was an area outside to drop off food and other items (blankets, toothpaste, etc.) for the homeless and, among other things, I always brought a bag of dog food. Many of the homeless had dogs and were desperately trying to keep their pets and best friends instead of taking them to a shelter. After I did it the first time other people also started bringing bags of dog food besides just human food. |
