Dude if your pee is smelling like ammonia so much that you think that is what pee smells like, you need to get yourself to a doctor. At the very least you need to start drinking a lot more water.

Agreed, human urine shouldn't smell like that if a person is healthy. But perhaps the OP meant cat piss. If you've ever encountered a kitty litter tray badly in need of cleaning (ah, the guilt), you're likely to get a good strong noseful of ammonia. And it kills all known germs - the downside is it isn't so good for the garden...

It could just be dehydration, like that says. Pee does indeed smell like ammonia, so much that urologists get asked that "all the time"!! And urologists say that pee does contain ammonia (maybe that's why it smells like ammonia?), which is the SAME STUFF they put in cleaning products!!!!!!!

Wasn't ammonia invented even before that? It somehow got into pee, so it must have already been around.

If you look at the ingredients of the cleaning products you use, you might find out something disturbing. The main ingredient is probably water. Most cleaning products contain either bleach or ammonia. So they want you to pay ten dollars per litre for ammonia plus water plus some perfume. Even though ammonia is one dollar per litre, water is almost free, and the perfume is unnecessary!!!

How can they get away with selling bottles of perfumed pee for ten dollars per litre!!!! It's a scam!!!

I know one thing, don't EVER mix ammonia with chlorine. The gas will literally KILL you.

I worked in a restaurant and the guy mopping the floor poured both ammonia and bleach into the mop bucket. He got taken to the hospital and the restaurant got evacuated.

I always read the ingredients on cleaning products so as never to mix the two! Better to use natural cleaning ingredients anyway like baking soda and vinegar.

Dude, check your pee. Ammonia is a "natural ingredient".

Great idea on reading the ingredients. You can read what is in those expensive cleaners, and how strong it is. They almost always have either ammonia or bleach. But not both.

They can't have "secret ingredients" in cleaning products, because some dunbass will drink some. Then the doctors will want to know what is in it. That's why they must write the ingredients on the bottle.

And that's why you can easily check that most cleaning products are basically ammonia and water, or bleach and water. It costs maybe twenty cents per litre to make, and they sell it for ten dollars per litre.

Theres an old story going around, could be myth, could be true, and knowing these lads probably is, anyway back to the story....a new 'tankie' had just recently arrived at his cavalry regiment, and following tradition, joined them in a few 'bevvies' in the NAAFI...well 'time' was called, but still his mates seem to have full foaming pint glasses in their hands, and he asked, 'how? the bar is shut' a mate said, well we just go 'round the back and refill them' he said 'but how?' his mate replied 'well we just pee into the glass and drink, we do this until it smells of Ammonia, it's just recycling the alcohol'

We used to do that just for a laugh when I were a kid. It's not so bad once you get used to it.
